TSEA,
Thanks, for this shot I had selected the center focus point not knowing how much of the bird will fill the frame but luckily it came nearer to me.
Panned and synchronized at just the right speed the flight to get a sharp shot.

IMO, The composition could be improved by making it in landscape orientation and still centering the bridge.

Thanks Sunil, I too feel it that way now, because the sky is plain and boring without any clouds. Unfortunately I dont have any landscape shots. Other option is to crop it that way.

It was a hard and hot day !

The background is little distracting - or on other words, subject is not emphasized properly from the rest of the details in the shot.. just my opinion

Poster material for me.

Good shot, I would love it with a thinner framing and bit more space around the fall. May be just me thinking that way.

Thanks guys. Sunil, I expect such remarks more than anything else, thats the sole purpose of posting here. I know the subject got lost in the background clutter, but tell me how I could make a difference. Lens is at 28mm f/2.8 the widest on this. May be an f/1.2 could have isolated the subject ? Let me learn some technicality. Or may be I should carry my 35mm 1.8 for future street experiments. Awaiting your valuable input.

TG,
I think it is a Peregrine Falcon. The one that is trained to prey on flying birds and fly back to perch on the forearm. The markings , short body, broad wings and rudder tail makes me think so, still guys with better bird knowledge can say for sure.
Very good capture though it was soaring in search of prey rather than fast flying, as it is capable of doing 200mph.

EDIT: Its not what I thought, as it has a long beak as compared to a Peregrine Falcon.

Continuing the avian theme with this entry of a pigeon on my deck an hour ago.

Pawan,
This photograph is sheer beauty!
The little girls added so much to the story this picture, or it would be just a shot of an airborne bike.
Great composition.
Regards,

Just type 'broken bridge chennai' to your google map, you will find details and few photos. Some movies were shot here. Elliots beach is close to it.

Shot today from my bed room window at 300 & 350mm focal length...Silhouetted against the monsoon sky, the famous Golconda Fort, home of the Koh-e-noor (mountain of light) diamond.
