Hey guys, thanks for the eye opener. I blindly believed what the boat guy told me. Its actually the Little Grebe .

Here's the Cormorant clicked from the same lake (Parent of the Grebes as per the boat guy).

Re: The Official non-auto Image thread

Can we start a theme in this thread which will display photos taken only from basic 18-55 lens? This will help new DSLR owner to understand capability of 18-55 lens before upgrading to other lenses. Since, I do not own DSLR I cannot start this theme.

Somebody volunteer.

I don't think we can hold a theme like that. What about others who don't own 18-55mm lens. For example, I don't own a 18-55mm. Besides, I don't think that makes any point. The 18-55mm will be different under different crop factors.

I completely agree with you. But in other circumstance most of the first time camera users buy kit lens (18-55) with camera body first time. This is the most selling lens and available with most of the DSLR owners.

This is what (one thing) people want to see. How it different from different crop factor? Only photos can explain . My answer lies in your reply.

Re: The Official non-auto Image thread

18-55 as a kit lens is offered only on some systems (eg canon, some nikons.....). Such photography theme will become exclusive to some system owners, excluding others.

Keep them coming, just curious, which lake are you hanging around lately ?

Here is another desperate attempt, I am not getting better in PP, somehow it does not look like my cup of tea. So those who wanted to hire me, please make sure of a processing post.

No themes & pictures on this thread please. It would dilute the thread's purpose. We have another photography thread for uploading pictures

Some more infrared

Here are a few pics I took at Hamayun's tomb. Somehow, I am not able to nail the PP to my satisfaction. Still learning, you see!

Love the first shot, though i would prefer if it had natural colors.
