Thanks C300. The 1st shot has the focus on the bottom 'rim', that's come out sharp. The flower was at an angle with the top leaning away from the camera at an angle. Aperture was F5.6.

Actually, to me, the focus point looks like the leaf in the background (highest contrast in image, light reflected off the leaf) and the petal just seems to be in the plane.

Actually focus was on the flower's lower rim ( I wanted to get the centre) and the leaf was same distance from the lens, just above the flower. 2D image after all.

Are you trying to do flower photography with an 'Optimum Prime' ? Please send that lens to Bangalore, I will get the best macro lens available today and send it in return (I know you would not take my comments in a negative taste

Hope you are feeling better now? I was also down with a mild fever and cough since Thursday.

Tough luck, the photos were not taken with Optimus Prime, they were taken with my travel lens, the 28-300.

Phew! after 4-6 months efforts. finally gone through all the pics. What a great collection of talent under laying here in the disguise of an automotive forum. Kudos to all you guys whoever contributed in this thread. What an electric collection of talent? My head and heart bows to you all.

No no, I have not enrolled in any course. Actually, I was interested in photography from college days but never pursued it. After that got busy with other commitments. Lately, started pursuing my hobby. Special thanks to this thread for instigating me to start again.

I wrote 'student' because there are so many great photographers here and I learnt quite a lot from this thread.
