Thanks @C300. And congrats to both of you. Enjoy the moments. I am very sure that you will run short of hard disks
with the kid as model!

If you guys are with Canon, and if you don't have 50mm prime and/or 70-200 F4 IS L, do get them and you will see a world
of difference. One for perfect candids and the other amazingly fast.

Another landscape from my side. Looking through the trees.

Nice one for starters. Use the 70-200 or preferably the 85mm G or D prime for this kinda photography

I am not a big fan of lighting ears from the back. I am guilty of doing the same .

Only pain point is the lack of AF during video mode. Pentax has now added this feature to the mirror-less K-01.
Nice! 1.8 should be good enough for most of your stuff.

Congratulations . I'll the same thing I told C300, please avoid flash for a few months and fill up those hard disks.

I was out last saturday with couple of friends to shoot some landscapes but couldn't as it started raining. The same friend messaged me asking if I was game to go today and I was more than happy to tag along, just because I'll get to learn a lot from him. He is a landscape photographer and a very very good one at that. Mostly does UWA POVs.

So, went and got myself a Cokin P GND this afternoon and went to kaikondrahalli lake. Man, am I impressed with this place or what. It's perfect for landscape, macros and birds. I tried some landscapes before sunset but was not getting anything interesting. I was also carrying the legendary "Vivitar Series 1 90mm f2.5" (Bokina) macro lens and wanted to give it a shot in the field as I haven't used it since I got it. From what I see, it's EXTREMELY sharp but prone to flare.

I had access to a manfrotto 055xProB and lots of dragonflies and bugs. What else could I ask for. So, here's what I got (looks like a red veined darter, please correct me if I am wrong):

The Official non-auto Image thread-thereddragon.jpg

I did get some landscape shots as well, which I'll share over the week.

PS: The photo looks underexposed here, no idea why.

@neonwheels
Great image! wonderful!

@Shaju
I have the same to say about back lit images, ears in that shot distract me way too much.

A couple of macros shot with my Fujifilm X10.

Yeh, I do not use flsh for my baby's portraits, so the 50mm is always on the camera whenever I am at my in-laws place. That macro has really come out well

Thanks bro!. Nice pics. May be we should include a link to high-resolutions shots as well. The quality degrades like anything with low-res show.

C300 & neoonwheels - Congrats!! Photographing kids is a challenge!

You can get them to smile... but you may want to improve the framing..
The Official non-auto Image thread-_dsc4720.jpg

Then you improve the framing only to see them giving you something like this...
The Official non-auto Image thread-_dsc4724.jpg

and eventually they get bored with your shooting episode...
The Official non-auto Image thread-_dsc4728.jpg

All shot with 50mm @ f/2.8

@HW: You got that one! Neat.
@TG: Vivid shots!!

My First digital camera HP215 bought in the year 2000.

Specifications: 1.3 Mega pixels
2x Digital zoom
1.8 inch LCD panel with live view
Came with 4MB CF card - yes, that's right.. 4MB.

It needs 4 alkaline batteries and lasts for about 30-45 shots. It won't run on rechargeable batteries.

Ha ha, nice series . I like the last one the best.

I got that lens in the MD mount . If I ever plan to sell that one (may be someday), I'll check with you first.

Here's one from that evening's landscape shoot. Shot with Panasonic 14-45mm, used GND from Cokin. They're famous for adding violet to the scene, which I kinda like but this place lacked foreground so this is the only that I like from all of it.

TG & HW, its just one from 80 images, I got few excellent ones from the session, but not allowed to post anywhere for a while. Around 6 or 7 are posted in FB & my site, will post here another version later.

I never try directing them, they are best as natural as they are. Good collection here.
