Great Compo KP, though the B&W Conversion leaves a lot to be desired.
I think you just did a simple desaturate or convert to greyscale. Thats not the best way to go B&W, you need to do a little more work for B&W to get best results
A good workflow is here
Photography Reviews, How-To, and Galleries of Digital Grin- powered by SmugMug
This is easily translatable to gIMP, the free Image manipulation tool
.....
Anyways here is one of my shots in color

@guyonblackybx, are sure this is a 70-300 mm lens shot, FOV looks like of a wide lens,

TSK, im literally speechless, i dont even know what to say.
One of the best pictures i have ever seen!!
P.S. - Could you tell me how do i go about this selective colouring, ive seen so many pictures but dont know how to keep one portion of a picture colour and the rest in B&W.
Also, im on a mac, so if possible, please let me know of some mac compatible program to do this. Thanks.

Pretty simple in Picasa. PS will give better effect though. I am not sure if Picasa works with Mac, check it on the site. Heres one I posted long back:

Thanks for your kind words.
You can use Apple aperture or GIMP on MAC.
Search google for tutorials.
In this particular case, there is no selective coloring.
I just "Desaturated Green/Yellow/Orange" colors.
Since that left red magenta and purple just the flower remained in color.
Another one of similar type

@Rudra....you should take classes. I'll join.
That shot was AMAZING. You have a knack to make the ordinary look extra-ordinary.

@tsk: That's a nice shot. I like the way the flower stands out.
