A Wednesday. Will the world survive it? (Doomsday)

If critics are to be believed, the end of the universe will begin coming Wednesday when a Welsh miner's son launches the world's biggest scientific experiment to know how the universe was born.

The well-known Welshman physicist, Lyn Evans, dubbed Evans the Atom, will this week switch on a giant particle accelerator designed to unlock the secrets of the Big Bang.

On Wednesday, Evans will fire up the Large Hadron Collider, a 17-mile-long doughnut-shaped tunnel that will smash sub-atomic particles together at nearly the speed of light.

Built by the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN), the collider lies beneath the French-Swiss border, near the institution's headquarters in Geneva, at depths ranging from 170 feet to 600 feet.

The aim of the 4.4 billion-pound (over $7.7 billion) experiment is to recreate the conditions that existed a fraction of a second after the Big Bang — the birth of the universe — and provide vital clues to the building blocks of life. contd/- follow the link below

Chain reactions = problems. A black hole(unreal gravitational pull) could be formed right on the surface of the earth. This is uncharted territory... Then again, im no expert...

What i think as a non scientist is , it may create some or the other energy imbalance as " energy cannot be created or destroyed it can only be transformed from one form to another"

Just read about it in the newspaper this morning. Pretty neat stuff!! Of all the dreaded things I learnt in school only physics managed to restore sanity in me!!

This equipment is described in detail in Dan Brown's Angels and Demons, I think they created anti-matter from this experiment. This book was written before Da Vinci Code.

the experiment will be conducted at 9 AM Indian standard time.
They will be conducting 3 experiments tomorrow. This will be a low scaled one first, they hope to create anti god as well as god material from the experiment. To record the activity they have created a camera with a 1 mile + lens in diameter. It takes 1 million + snaps a second . And the live experiment will be available in many websites.

I do not know what could be repercussions of this experiment but I believe it is an interesting experiment ever performed by human beings.

Hope everything would be fine tomorrow by this time. It is scheduled to be tested on 7:00 GMT means 12:30 PM Indian time. Wait and Watch!

I am waitng for this experiment, half of the thing we know about the anything in the universe is just theories whcih can not be proved for once we can get answers to those.
As we do not know what the unisverse is made of scienties have named that part as Dark matter and inti matter.

And if the news in some Papers and news channels is ture than we wont have to worry about diesel prices going up.....

I can bet my last paisa that the theory about world coming to an end as a consequence to the experiment is absolute garbage.

Why am I so confident? Because, if I am wrong no-one would be around to say that

Anyway, check out this cool rap:

The famous Physicist Feynman was visiting one of these huge accelerator thingies, maybe in Switzerland.

They told him, "When this equipment is complete, we expect it to prove one of your theories"

"You built this to prove one of my theories?"

"Yes, Sir."

"You couldn't trust me on this?"
