Bajaj Saab, Is the management at Lakdikapul Management same as the one at Ameerpet?

Going by your post, I would love to have the Biryani but Ameerpet isin't enroute hence a long detour needs to be taken to devour this Fish Biryani. On another thought, I would not call it Biryani et all. It should be Fish Pulao. Rather than calling it Biryani, it should be called as Fish Pulao

Moreover, as you all are well aware by now, my love for Prawns. Request for a suggestion of a good outlet for Prawns Pulao (Prawns Biryani in their language) and finger licking good variety of Prawns Appetizers.

I agree - At Rs 400 ++ per head its definitely not VFM any more.
I would rather look at Angeethi buffet for that price.

After a long time ordered Mutton Biryani door delivery from Dinehill last night and this place never lets me down. Great biryani, good amount of meat, excellent flavors.

Cost of 3 Biryanis was around 400 bucks, quantity was good enough for 6 people.

Food Inn, Kothaguda.

Had my lunch there today. Order a Special Family Pack Chicken Biryani.
Including the VAT it costs Rs 364.
Was more than enough for 3 of us.

This biryani is special because it contains boneless chicken. The chicken is not cooked with the biryani. Its some batter coated variant of the chicken 65.

But there were a lot of pieces. It worked. But I don't think I will repeat this dish.

However, a colleague of mine was mighty impressed. He plans to take a pack with him on his return trip in the evening. His sons are young and don't like the big chicken pieces usually found in biryani.

No idea whether the management is same but looks like they are.

Lets meet up tomorrow evening and order prawn biryani aka pulao and some other prawn dishes. I am also feeling very low and need a booster dose of prawns for my general health.

Hey Nikhil Biryani Durbar in Tirmulgheree serves some awesome Prawns Biryani/Pulao as told by my friends.

Have not tried it as I am allergic to sea food but my friends swear by the Prawns pulao served there .

Want to thank members for recommending Angeeti, I must admit it was one hell of a lunch buffet with everybody enjoying it to the fullest. VFM too @ Rs. 325 all inclusive for weekend buffet. Boy it was crowded. Lucky to have reserved the table in the morning.

How did I miss this place all this while. Special thanks to all again

re: A Guide: Eating out in Hyderabad/Secunderabad/Cyberabad

Subway Restaurants

Subway has a "sub of the day" offer where you get a 6" sub for 80/-. This offer is an ongoing one from quite some time and the prices keep changing and so does the menu.

From today, every Monday, you can get 1 sub free for 1 sub ordered with a drink.

Since the 6" subs are priced at 80, 110, 130 and 160 so essentially for 80/110/130/160 you can 2 X 6" subs.

This offer does not hold good for "sub of the day" offer. Since on Mondays, the sub of the day is Chicken Roast, you cannot enjoy that. Chicken Roast will cost 80 for 6" and 270 for 12" (better to buy 2 X 6" for 160).

Well, finally, we can enjoy slightly more affordable subs, so what if only on Mondays.

I lunched at their Nagarjuna Circle outlet today and ordered 2 X 6" Chicken Teriyaki (135+0) ; 2 X 6" Sub Melt (160+0) ; Sub of the day, 6" Chicken Roast (80) ; 2 X 6" Veggie Delight (80+0) ; Medium (400ml) Iced Tea 45 ; Large (500ml) Coke 45 ; Diet Coke Can 50 ; Total 595 for 7 X 6" subs and 3 drinks. The amount includes 14.5% VAT.

I think I will patronise Subways on Mondays!!!

OTF = Over The Flames. Its a small Italian restaurant which serves the yummiest of the Pizza's and Pastas.

Its on the Old Bombay highway next to Cyberabad Police Commissioner's Office.

re: A Guide: Eating out in Hyderabad/Secunderabad/Cyberabad

About a month ago, badly wanted to have a Wood Oven Pizza. Had to shoot across an email to the Hydeez Foodies in order to satiate this urge of mine. This mail lead to discovery of Over The Flames, which was suggested by Chetan (DownSouth).

Even though, I was the one who initially asked for it but was the last one to visit it, due to the Ganesh Festival and etc. This is the time; I normally keep off the Non-Veggie stuff for 10 days. In the meantime, Avinash, Anirudha and Rajesh paid a visit to OTF and enjoyed the food.

At last, today I visit Over The Flames for some amazing Pasta, Pizza and More.

your regular luncheon team. Been on talks with a friend of mine for lunch at Going for lunch from Office isn’t an easy thing, especially when you have OTF and it's been procrastinated for long. Today was the day, when it was the final ultimatum. Either We Do It or I Do It Alone. With these words, we set off for lunch at Over The Flames.

I've had a prior idea of the kind of food served at Over The Flames and have heard rave reviews about the same from Avinash and others. On the other hand, my friend was a bit apprehensive when he heard that it's a small outlet in the basement kind of a place.

Reached OTF to find a zillion people standing out, we were sure that No way would we get the seat for lunch today. With these words, we slowly trickled into Over The Flames to find it all empty. Upon enquiry, we were told that they were waiting for their group to assemble for lunch at Over The Flames. We quickly took the smaller table and started out tryst with food.

Golden Fried Mushrooms
This was one of the best appetizers i’ve had till date. It was a simple dish of Mushrooms stuffed with Bell Peppers and Mozzarella Cheese. Golden fried and served with Cheese Dip. The filling/stuffing of Molten Mozzarella Cheese with overpowering Bell Peppers was amazing and it was something, I would surely go for again and again. Very creatively conceived dish and equally exciting Cheese Dip. I can’t stop raving about this dish for ages; it’s something worth the try. If you love Mushrooms and Cheese, then go for it.
A Guide: Eating out in Hyderabad/Secunderabad/Cyberabad-golden-fried-mushrooms.jpg

Chicken Cheese Macaroni
One of the best pasta’s I’ve ever eaten outside. My love for Cheese is a never ending saga of true love and the amount of Cheese that I tasted in this was equivalent to what I put in while making Pasta at Home. Never ever did I see any outlet throwing in Pasta in Cheese, I’ve always seen them throw in a couple of cubes of cheese into loads of Macaroni. This time, it was the other way round. This time, it was overloaded with Cheese, that too two kinds of Cheese. Macaroni loaded with Mozzarella Cheese and English Vegetables baked and garnished with Parmesan Cheese is that the description says. I guess they forgot to mention the ground black pepper, whose taste was overpowering and gave it an excellent texture and flavor. All Cheese isn’t great to taste, that’s where Ground Black Pepper comes in and gives it a balanced flavor.
A Guide: Eating out in Hyderabad/Secunderabad/Cyberabad-chicken-cheese-macaroni.jpg

12" Over The Flames Special Pizza
The list gets exhaustive if I list down all the ingredients that go into this Pizza. Lamb, Chicken, Prawns, Tuna, Salomon, Pepperoni, Olives, Jalapeno, Black Peppers, Onions and Cherry Tomatoes are some of the ingredients that go into making the OTF Special Pizza. I would not rate it the best but it was worst none the least. Loved it to a good extent but being a connoisseur of Good Food, I do experiment and sometimes these experiments do fail. This was one of those days, when my high expectations came crashing to the ground. This was Good but not excellent as compared to Golden Fried Mushrooms and Chicken Cheese Macaroni. I would go back for more of Pizza’s at OTF for sure, there’s more on the menu and every pizza is eagerly waiting to be devoured. In Arnie’s Lingo, “OTF, I’ll Be Back”
A Guide: Eating out in Hyderabad/Secunderabad/Cyberabad-otf-special-pizza.jpg

La Tiramisu
La Tiramisu, what do I say about this. I am still dreaming about having one more La Tiramisu. I wish I had my office a couple of blocks away from Over The Flames, so that I could order La Tiramisu every single day. Where’s that Dark Rum? This is an Authentic Italian Dessert made with Sponge Cake sprinkled with Dark Rum and layered with Cream topped with Cocoa Powder. I so miss the Cream and Dark Rum combination.
A Guide: Eating out in Hyderabad/Secunderabad/Cyberabad-la-tiramisu.jpg

Would surely love to go back to Over The Flames for more helpings of La Tiramisu, Blueberry Cheese Cake and Chocolate Fondant. All others are a passé as we usually find them everywhere.

Total Cost: Rs. 588/-

Final Verdict: 100% VFM with Amazing Taste

This weekend, I would be going on a 15 day sabbatical for Navratri, hence would be off the non-veggie diet for 2 weeks. So, the next 2 weeks would be dedicated to Veggie Food and Garbo.

re: A Guide: Eating out in Hyderabad/Secunderabad/Cyberabad

Sometime last week, was in Tarnaka area visiting a friend so on the way back, we decided to stop at a place called " Blue Orchid" which is right at the Habsiguda X roads.

Their ambience is very nice and up-market !

We ordered only 2 dishes :-

Apollo Fish (Rs.180) : I am not sure if this was an apollo fish or some other name but, it was excellent

A Guide: Eating out in Hyderabad/Secunderabad/Cyberabad-img2011091100405.jpg

Mutton Biryani (Rs.170): Very good but, spicy even for my liking
