Many have said that no other branch serves food as tasty as the one u get at Himayatnagar.

I for one do not think much of the food at outlet at RK Cineplex.

2 cops on a bike and few more cops in a Sumo came when I was there. A pack of ice cream was passed on to them. I guess it is good old bribing which lets these joints remain open till late.

of course it is! I have seen cops being fed for free by late night bandis too.

Pandeyji, you have disappointed me. You dont like Kerala food ?

Anyway I wanted to clarify to everyone here is the authentic Kerala food is not spicy at all. It is just a very few meat preperations that are, if at all, spicy. We put so much of coconut into everything that it absorbs all the chillies. :)

Went back to Vasantha Bhavan for breakfast.

Very good sambhar that has been prepared using these.

Had some pongal, vada and masala dosa.

The sambar vada was a bit of a let down. The vada's were normal ones dunked into sambar. It was still ok but I think they need to fix these small things.

The filter coffee was excellent as well.

Since it was a little early, the restaurant was not crowded. There were just a few tables that were occupied.

This meant I could walk along the whole area and feed my daughter while she was playing with those lovely brass bells they have fixed as part of decor.

Yessire, unfortunately my palate doesnt seem to agree with this cuisine. I have tried it many times at many places recent being "Utupura".

Except the banana leaf fish which was quite good, I didnt like any of the other dishes that I experimented one being a pepper mutton and one being a chicken

I also dont like Appams or Stew. I prefer the tamilian stew (Avial) instead.
Rice served at Utupura is a shame to south indians. They were big and seemed uncooked.

Anyways, dont be disppointed because I didnt like the food but, I like Keralites, especially the girls. They are sweet :p

Last evening had dinner at "Hotel Taj Mahal-Narayanguda"

Idli-Wada
Cut-Mirchi
"Patented" Cutlets
Coffee


Idli and Wada was excellent but, sambhar was not that great. I love the Minvera sambar
Cut-Mirchi was awesome.
Love cutlets from Taj Mahal. However, the chutney and overall taste of cutlet is much better at Taj Mahal, Abids
Filter Coffee was excellent

Total Damages : Rs.175

Had lunch at KDM today. Went at 2.40 and it was full. Had to wait for few minutes to get a table for 4. While waiting chatted with one of the owner and told him how popular KDM is among TBHPites. also showed him couple of posts and pics on my mobile. He was beaming and noted down the URL to check at leisure.

Ordered meals, mutton curry (mutton fry was not available), prawns fry and egg curry with mutton soup.

Thoroughly enjoyed the meal though it was pretty hot in there. Was trying out egg curry with mutton soup for first time - was decent. Nothing compared to the heavenly mutton curry.

Someone asked for the prices at KDM. Took a snap of the menu for dine in (lot of crowd, could not take a proper one but this covers most of the items):

The staple food of Kerala and it is a LOT more healthier than the polished white rice most restaurants serve.

Spot on. Thats the rice that was served. The visual appeal is enough to put of strong stomachs:D

Jokes apart, I hate rice that is puffy. I had endured such type of rice many times in MH and sometimes in north as well.

That's shallots or "Kochu Ulli" as we call in Malayalam. Typical Kerala Sambar, Fish curries, "Theeyal" etc. are always made of this in place of Onion.

Try making an omlette with shallots in place of onion and you'll know the difference :), if you've not had it till now, that is.
