Guys, planning for dinner out tonight.

Any suggestions for a new place for good kebabs, rotichoti and biryani?

This is not right. We should be asking you and not the other way around

Each time I wrack my brains which cuisine to eat but, ultimately being a north indian, end up having rotichoti as wifey is wary of other cuisines.

So the expanse of restuarant knowledge suddenly gets dried up and this is where i hope some of you can let loose a tip...LOL

Been there once and i dont like them too much. Plus the exorbitant pricing of Rs.700++ per person.

For that price, i can have a grand ala-carte meal in any other fine dining restuarant like ZE, ZL, Fusion 9 etc.

Hyderabad lacks in places where you get some thumpingly good kebabs.....It's just Biryani, Biryani, Biryani everwhere...sigh !

Yep i remember paying nearly 600 rs for a lunch with some unlimited cold green bottle
I really enjoyed the Paan ice cream though

TGKF need to reduce their prices, I had been to their outlet in Muscat, where they have Mini concept, in which you get the Kebabs just once and wass priced at 5OR.

What kind of kebab's are you looking for?

BTW, I'm going to have to spend a little time(and make a post) in the relative future and go over some of the great food I had while there for Dec and Jan of this year.

I will say one place that had some food I hadn't really had before was Yoko Sizzler. It wasn't "steak"(the "sizzlers"), but it was something good and interesting.

Too late to suggest but this may come in use in future.

Kwality's Grill & Curry, opposite Reshmi's, Park Lane, Secunderabad.

They have pre-plated food combos. VFM.

A combo meant - yellow dal, 1 tandoori roti, chawal, salad, 1 papad, raita, achar and a choice of one main course from 3 chicken dishes, 2 mutton dishes, 2 fish dishes, 2 prawn dishes, 3 kebabs, 3 paneers and some more. The price was 114/- per platter for N/V and 96/- for veg. They also had biryani combos.

I had dinner there yesterday. 5 of us shared 4 combos and all of us were stuffed. Taste was pretty much North Indian.

Last sunday went out for dinner. Though wanted to go to Badimiyan at Somajiguda as never been there before. Hope there is a sitting and not just take away??

However, ended up in "Sholay" at Chikoti Gardens in Begumpet. Last time around wifey liked the food here.

We ordered

Some beverages for me and wifey
Amritsari Fish ( Rs.225)
Kunda Chicken...Gravy dish ( Rs.200)
Meat Biryani ( Rs.175)
Rotis

Total Damage : Rs.1300

Fish was excellent. Crisy, spicy and one of the best AF that i ever had

Kunda Chicken ( Not sure if this is correct name as its a pretty long name) deserves a special mention. After a long time, i tasted a different flavoured chicken. This gravy dish was simply mindblowing

One of the best meat biryanis you can get in this place. Trust me, its slightly different than other places..where the rice is not long grained and white but short grained and colored one...nevertheless, awesome biryani...slurrrrp !!!

Surprisingly,on a sunday night, there were hardly 3-4 tables occupied and entire restuarant was empty. Experienced the same before this visit as well. Dont know why people arent going there for dinner.

I can't wait to go back to Sholay again as tasty food, slightly expensive but they more than make it up with good quantity of their dishes.

I love 'em !!!

Planning to go out for dinner tonight.

Any pointers for new pure veggie places similar to Methi/Chillies/Shetra etc?

If no pointers come in, then i may end up in Kwality Grill that Mr.Bajaj likes so much

I ended up at " Kwality Grills and Curry" last evening

Ordered the following

1 Veg Steak Sizzler
1 Mutton Sheek Kebab Platter
1 Punjabi Chicken Platter
I Mutton Biryani
Thumbs-Up
Meenakashi and Meetha Paan, Next Door

Mom had veg steak sizzler and she liked it

Loved the sheek kebabs, it was perfectly made

Punjabi Chicken was crap ( Sweetish taste)

By mistake, ordered full mutton biryani ( exorbitant price) and didnt like it at all. More taste of saffron rice than anything else.

Service is slow and waiters just stand like dummies

Overall, the platter is VFM and I may go there again.

Total Damage : Rs.650
