I picked up the following snacks from " Sri Kanya" which is in the model house, panjagutta lane for my last wednesday party at home. It's a small parcel joint and boy, people are standing in queqe to get their parcel. Looks like a very popular joint with the telugu folks

a) Chicken Fry ( 3 plates) : Quite nice, andhra style, very spicy
b) Fish Fry ( 2 plates) : Very nice
c) Chilly Mutton ( 1 plate) : Didnt like it, the meat was not as soft as i like it
d) Gongura Mutton ( 1 plate) : nice, the flavour was on spot

This thread is great, I have only gone through maybe four pages, but I'm definitely going to be reading the whole thing. I miss Hyd food just about everyday. Here are some of my favorites:

Chinese:
Ohri's Mings court
Palace Heights
High King

Then I like the Chicken 65 at the TankBund little food court.. where you park and they bring it to you.. or eat down there(I forgot the name of the place). Also the chicken 65 at the Deewan dhaba by Runway 9.

And yes, the Biryani at the Nizam club is very good.

4 seasons is good as well. Their soups are good as is most of their menu.

I've always heard Pista House is the best Haleem, but I've never been in town during Ramadan to experience it at it's best.

Also the newer middle eastern food restaurant over Pista House is pretty good as well. Then again I may have a bias towards all the business's in this complex.

. Btw, that Haiking ( Chinese restuarant) on Hyderguda road

If your talking about the place in the middle of the tank bund road then its " Bade Miyan Kebab". I dont know about Chicken 65 but their kebabs are sumptious

Pista house is located in Old city, are you meaning to say there is one more in the 4 seasons compound where you have several restuarants in the same place? Also, do you own a restuarant there?

Thanks for the spelling correction on Haiking, when I was typing it, I was second guessing myself on the spelling.

Agreed, the kababs are also very good at the tank bund road place.

And yes, there is a Pista House location within the complex in Tolichowki with all the other restaurants. And to your last question, no, not a restaurant(or any of the business's for that matter)..

Mine is Baisakhi, Sony International. I was in Sony Dabha on saturday night

Chandini was good during the good old days. Is it still good? From outside it looks as it it has crumpled. I havent been there in the last 7-8 years.

About a week ago, been to "Four Seasons". I ordered for the following :

Phuket Fish ( Rs.190)
Chicken Lasooni Kebab : ( Rs. 140)
Meat Biryani ( Rs. 120)
Qubani Ka Meethi with Tutti fruit Icecream ( Rs.70)

Fish was really nice but too much of sauce laden on top of it. I like the Ming Court "Phuket Fish" much much better and Four Season is equally expensive but the presentation and taste dont match MC.

Chicken Kebab was good. Juicy and cooked well

Meat Biryani was a bit of a disappointment, it was quite soggy and full of masala. I like the rice to be easily picked separately and the masala to be layered in between and not all over the biryani.

Qubani ka meetha was quite delicious.

It is a nice place to visit if your looking for a change from real big swanky restuarants.

is the shawarma place next to four seasons closed for good?
I happened to go there twice past month, and unfortunately haven't seen anything.

I have a similar question regarding Maharaja Chat. After moving to his new location I don't happen to see these guys opening the stall anymore. Did they move to another new place?

Regarding the former, i dont think it is there anymore.

Regarding the latter, are you referring to the Maharaja near the Abids Police Station? If yes, that has been closed more than a decade ago

Spice 6: Maheswari Complex Banajara HIlls Rd #1.

3 Garlic Naans.
3 Tandoori Rotis.

1 Veg Kandahari
1 Hummus
1 Malai Chicken Kabeb.

Bill 380. Perfect for 4 people with a little hummus left over.

Excellent Food. Not spicy and all the flavors captured very beautifully in the food.
The kabebs were simple awesome.
A highly recommended joint for non veg.

They however have only four veg gravies and one type of daal.

Imran, thanks for Spice 6 info. I must check this out after Dussera.

I am off liquor and NV food until Oct 10th.

I take this festival as a double opportunity. One of that is to de-toxify the body for 10 days as i am mostly on fruits and juices

I pick up chicken kathi roll (30 /-) or Allo kathi roll (25 /-) from Fresh @ on banjara hills Rd #12 for lunch at office. The stuff is available from roughly 9:30 AM onwards. Also they have some good sandwiches available here.

Just microwave it before eating.
It tastes much better than the stuff available at office.

They also have some good breads and pastries.

However this is the only Fresh @ I like.
The others somehow dont seem as good as this.
