Is there an equivalent thread for other cities, e.g. Pune?

+1 on that. Hyderabad Junta are always on look out for new food joints and that's the main reason, this thread is still alive and rocking. Any new joint or new experience, its all here. This thread is sort of Bible for Foodies.

Does this mean you didnt pay the bill?

Jokes apart, looking at the number of dishes ordered along with beverages and the bill is just 1400 bucks, seems like a steal to me.

haha!! you guessed it right!!!
But frankly, breakfast items like Dosa, idli, toasts, juices were listed at Rs.45/- and Rs. 50/-.
Beverage for a 650ml bottle was Rs.160/-(I hope I am recalling it right)
Banno Kebab was Rs. 220/-. IMO cheaper than Our place and Sahib Sind Sultan, and probably Barbeque Nation too.
We even joked and asked the waiter if it's a old menu with old prices

EDIT: just confirmed the final bill , it was 1500 bucks and some change.

Last evening me and a friend had a quick dinner at Shahji Ka Dhaba, Lakdi-ka-Pul

Mutton Masala : Rs.95
Tandoori Rotis : Rs.8/Each
Chicken Biryani : Rs.95
Thumbs-Up ( the real one)

Mutton Masala was good but it had no character or distinct flavour

Rotis were good

Chicken Biryani was not dum type but, had scent of zafraan in it.

For a change its good, but i wouldnt like to eat this Biryani regularly.

Total Damage : Rs.260

Its a small joint and not suitable for families but, decent food if you need something quick to bite.

their tandoori chicken and rotis( jumbo size) are the best i've eaten so far.

sardarji and me were thinking of dinner there tonight.

This is a result of my chance meeting with Mr Sumit Sen today morning near the elevator of Hidden Treasure at Somajiguda.

At least the discount has been finalised.

How the staff will come to know to whom the discount has to be given is yet to be worked out.

Keep following this thread to know the procedure on how to get the discount, that is, if you want the discount.
I will visit Sholay tonight for dinner and also to finalise the discount!

I had a funny experience in a popular restraunt in Kukatpally(forgot the name, I think its near ICICI bank ATM in the JNTU street).

Me and ravi@64bhp went there for lunch. We ordered for Chicken Biryani. We were served two dishes with some rice item. Immediately I said to the guy who bought "We ordered for Chicken Biryani not Chicken Pulao!!!" (I dont remember having chicken pulao before, but I used that word because it did not look like the chicken biryani I have been having all through my life!!!). The server was dumbfounded!! He was unable to say anything!! Ravi then clarified that this is indeed known as Chicken Biryani there. You would not be served Dum Biryani unless you specify as Hyderabadi Biryani!!!

I would like to say this "other" type of biryani also taste good but of course not like the dum biryani!! For me its not biryani if its not Dum Biryani!!! Hence I say "no dum if no dum".

That was hilarious...LOL

You should say "No to Biryani if it's not Dum"

I tasted Biryani from almost everywhere that i visited in India and one that i recall was once in Calcutta ate a Chicken Biryani that had more boiled potato pieces ( large ones) than chicken

Are newbeis, like me also eligible for this discount?, or you plan to have some criteria based on number of posts or duration of membership.
