I know that driving is India is certainly a "tense" affair.

What causes Silverwood to get high tension while driving on the road from Sainikpuri to Yapral ?

@Bajaj Sahb.

This stretch of road (approx 3 kms) passes under a high voltage electric line and hence this road is called as high tension road.

Dinner @ Lotus Palace (Hitec City)

Makai Shorba 2 (Good)
Dahi ke Kabab 1 (Superb)
Paneer Rogan Josh 1 (Decent)
Shahi Kofta 1 (Good)
Nans 3 (just ok)

Total Damages 850/- (with 15% discount)

Tad expensive but nice food. The waiters kept coming in turns and asking about food quality which was a bit irritating as it didnt leave us with privacy.

The other day me and a couple of friends had dinner at Pakwaan. We ordered some rotis, dal makhani and some paneer curry. The food was pretty good. The service was neat, timely and unobtrusive. And the bill was a paltry INR 156.

I'll definitely recommend Pakwaan for quick get-togethers and inexpensive good food.

There was also a tabby (cat) that kept us company underneath the dinner table .

Eat Street Sucks

Last month I had been to Hyd for a friend's wedding (my first visit to the city). Made a mistake of having byriyani from Eat Street. Turned out to be the worst biriyani I ever had

re: A Guide: Eating out in Hyderabad/Secunderabad/Cyberabad

Had buffet lunch at 45 Jubilee Hills yesterday. Was 199/- plus taxes. They had some 4 NV items including Nawabi Chicken (dry), Fish Curry, Egg Curry and Chicken Biryani. Rest was vegetarian and desserts. Taste was mostly Andhra style, except the Nawabi Chicken snacks, which I liked (read: hogged) the best. Rest of the food was so-so.
Given a choice, I wouldn't go there again.

I think you should give it a try and post a review here.

The quality of food at 45 Jubilee Hills had gone down drastically. They should so something about this soon or they may have to shut the shop.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I had my lunch at Calcutta cabin @Jubilee hills this afternoon and ordered 2 NV Thalis. (SILVERWOOD+1)

The chicken curry was good
The mutton curry was also good, but the mutton was not tender.
The fish curry was typical bong type, just enjoyed the fish
The puris were yummy.
The quality of rice was good and the daal was ok.

Total Damages-Rs 360.

Update: It's such a respite to see Team-BHP back in office. "Access Denied" removed, so back to the good old days of Team-BHPing at Office.

Looks like we are still struck with Sholay and likes? Am planning to visit Ohri's Nautanki Gali at Cyber Pearl. Any reviews of the same. Got mixed responses from people, some people said its an extension of 70MM with a very vast spread. Where as, others told me in simple words IGNORE IT.

Decent food, bad service is what I've heard from others in my company. The other day we had to decide between this and Zafraan Exotica for lunch and we went to the latter.

Try Food 'n' I. It's the "flavour of the season" this side of town.

@Jaguar: In addition the Waterfront there's Ohri's Tansen also nearby. It's pretty good, although not as good as Waterfront.

spadix

re: A Guide: Eating out in Hyderabad/Secunderabad/Cyberabad

Was in Hyd recently and tried 2 places

Hard Rock Cafe at GVK Banjara Hills. Average food for the price and so-so ambience. Bangalore Hard Rock is at lease 2-3 times better.

N- had only starters and beverages. The murg tikka whatever was mouth watering. Pepper prawan also good. Puts you in a good mood when you spot a Gallardo in the parking lot.

re: A Guide: Eating out in Hyderabad/Secunderabad/Cyberabad

Had buffet at Lotus Palace Hitec city yesterday-
huntrz+2

Starters-
Tandoori chicken and some chinese fish item(forgot the name). Both were good.
Main Course-
Mutton Rogan josh- gravy was too watery for my taste.
chicken(in green gravy. forgot the name)- was nothing special
Kadhai Jhinga(prawns)- absolutely avoidable
Chicken biriyani- pathetic(broken grains- over cooked rice?, minimal flavored)

Dessert-
Gulab Jamun- hard and dry at the centre.

Price- 250+ taxes
Total bill for 3- 900(859+41)
Service with a smile and good ambiance. No service charge slapped
Wouldn't want to visit the place again for buffet.
