I many a times tried visiting Dinehill but, the look of it from outside put me off as it doesnt look appropriate for family members but, looks more like an Irani cafe which you visit your friends for some chai, biscuits and banter.

Seeing that Mr.Fordmanchau has liked it so much. Should pay a visit (alone) to them soon. Unless, Mr.Manchau arranges for a "Dinehill" meet

It is that but it is not unsuitable for families either. Do not expect anything fancy. I have been there few times with my family and also with CtrlAltDel and other friends. Though the place is sparsely decorated, the tables are clean, service prompt, food excellent and not very expensive. They also have door delivery. Do visit it sometime.

I usually pick up food from the Dine Hill Garden Towers outlet.
While there DO NOT look into the kitchen.

The only dish I like is the ATC. Arabic Tandoori Chicken. I find everything else just about ok.

I like the biryani at Sarvi takeaway.

hehe.!!Pandeyji, to tell you the fact I have never gone there and ate. I always order for home delivery or else I'll pick up from there.
I visit their Garden Tower's outlet. Have not gone to the Rd. no 1 outlet after it was redone besides the Agra sweets. Before that it was on the opp side.
I have been eating their biryani since 2004.
If you guys agree we can have a meet there as well or we can order it from there and have at my place.
They would start making Haleems too now.

+1 to what Norules said above. For that matter the Rd. no 1 outlet is more suitable, though parking would be a issue. Garden Towers outlet has more parking space available but that is also mostly occupied, though we can park just a little ahead of the Polic officer's mess on the left side of the road.

Absolutely! In fact sambar for rice is more common in our case than sambar for tiffins. For tiffins we rely purely on pickles, chutneys and powders. There are dozens of varieties of those in stock 365 days a year!

I felt Needs was pretty over-hyped even back in 2003 when I was a bit of a forced regular there. My Punjabi friend from college had just relocated to Hyderabad and despite all his grand protestations about how much chilly he can handle, he would always default to Needs for "homely" food. Given his inflexibility the rest of us had to follow suit. Even he stopped wanting to go there in short order (once we introduced him to Sree Harsha Deluxe mess and a couple of other 'plate meals' outlets in and around Ameerpet/SR Nagar. )

I'll try out this paratha place. It sounds good. I believe in specialization as well. If this shop makes only parathas then the chances are pretty high that they are better at it than most.

Do you even like Pizza Hut these days? First it was Corner, then it was Hut to give up on. This automatic inclusion of charity amount in the bill is such a farce! Why could they simply not have put a drop box near the cash counter like so many establishments do?

By the way, I find in some cases that it helps to instruct the attendant to swipe the exact amount. If that doesn't work, I extract revenge in a couple of subsequent visits by filling up to around xxxx.3x and simply keeping quiet. Usually they round it off to the lower rupee. It's best to avoid such outlets in the long term (or pay using cash, if possible).

Some pumps are exact about this, however.

I remember giving the Pride Honda cashier as well an earful over this "rounding off" during one of the services. Long gone are the days when people would religiously enter the exact amount in CC transactions. :(

You gotta go to the 1st floor and sit. The Biryani is good and the place clean. Functional but clean!

Yesterday I dined at "Taste of Darkness" in "Dialogue in the Dark" at Inorbit Mall in Madhapur.

It was truly an experience not imagined by me in my wildest dreams.

They have a website at Dialogue in the Dark which can be browsed to understand the concept more.

Important Note : One has to have full confidence in the staff who lead you to your table in pitch black darkness from the entrance door. The constant fear is that of bumping into walls and pillars. I kept on imagining pillars just in front of me though I knew there are none there since the staff member who was guiding me was exactly in front of me and I was holding her shoulders and following her and the only possibility was to bump into her and not into pillars. The brain went on screaming to me that nothing can go wrong but then my heart was not listening to the brain completely. This is how we humans imagine and conjure up non existent things. Postscript : Later on while I was seated, I could hear more people coming in duly guided by other staff and that is when I realised I did listen to my brain. It was fun hearing the comments of some of the guests despite realising the fact that it is not good to laugh at others insecurities.

Once seated, Misha, the staff assigned to me and who was constantly hovering around, oriented me with the layout of the table by explaining where my plate will be, where my napkin will be, where my cutlery will be and where my water bottle will be. All I had was the power of touch to realise the orientation. It took me just a few moments and I could easily pick up my water bottle without feeling around or touching things or rattling the cutlery.

They served a 4 course meal. Soup, snacks, main course & dessert. I will not dwell on the name of dishes and their quantities and qualities as they have a surprise menu so I do not wish to influence anyone beforehand. Well, the only power I had over my food was the sense of smell, the sense of touch and the sense of taste. All in all, the experience is worth it.

After having completed my meal, Misha escorted me out and it was only then that I realised that :

Misha is blind. Hats off to all the Mishas.

Wow! to them for helping blind make a living very honourably.

Now I know what are the hardships of a blind person, albeit, just a little bit. I have tasted the experience of how blind person manage their life.

I paid 499 per head all inclusive thanks to a snapdeal voucher. Their official price is 750 per head all inclusive. Reservations are a must.

I strongly suggest everyone to taste the darkness once just to realise how blessed we are since our eyes function.

By the way, they have a tour also which is without the dining experience.

Lastly, people who have fear of darkness are not advised to visit but I can say that if you have the will to allow your self to trust another person (in this case, the staff) you will end up enjoying the experience.

It may not be a place you would visit every now and then to dine but it is a place you would visit for the experience.

There's a Kulfi & icecream shop besides the Garden Tower Dinehill outlet and there's always a Kulfi bandi in front of the Khaja Mansion function hall for the sweet buds after the chicken feast !!

As long as you go with an open mind and with a zeal to try something new, something different, something unknown, you will be good for going.

This is something like one feels on a roller-coaster ride. If you can convince your brain and heart that n number of people before you did not fall of it or die on a roller coaster, nothing will go wrong with you. You actually do not feel scared on a roller coaster.

The coupons came online sometimes in June on the website and I had snapped them and was sitting on them till now.

The negatives of the place were :

(1) When I called up to reserve, the lady who answered the phone wanted to know the mode of payment. I wonder why? After all, they allow you inside only after full payment and they do accept both cash and card so why the need to know the mode in advance. Maybe the foreign principal has this style and has imposed on the franchisee.

(2) The front office staff is pretty too much too the point and lack warmth. They did later on make it up for the lack of it or maybe the person manning the front office was just like that, a wrong choice.

(3) They do not give a bill. They do but the security guard standing just 5 feet away takes it back. Of course, me being me, I did get it as I insisted on it. Why is it that I get a feeling that all outlets who resist giving bills must be tax-thieves? I do not see any other reason for someone to avoid allowing a guest to keep the bill.

You, HRH-RR and others are all welcome but do remember that you are not going there for just eating the food but for the dining experience.

I do not think I mentioned that after exiting the darkness back into light last night, my family saw CreamStone one level below in the mall. Imagine people wanting to eat more desserts just after finishing their dinner and dessert. That costed me another 292 for 2 ice creams. I just came to know that my family is back at Inorbit and at Cream Stone again.

No I did not pick up the Marriot offer as I do not like chips and peanuts.

Great review Bajaj Saab! Bidisha had told me about this place but somehow haven't gotten around to go there. Based on your feedback, this is ticked as a MUST DO this weekend
