I stay in shyamlal building and there are two shops in colony being the main road, Once we go towards RBI quarters in shyamlal Building, one guy selling pure veg, he is cheaper than our house food and taste is a pure north indian taste, I am yet to taste homely rajma that he makes in any other outlet in hyderabad. He sells them for Rs.30 a plate and roti is just Rs.3/-. All guys working in that one small pan shop sized shop are from north.

Then there is one guy who is almost adjacent to this guy and is very famous for his chicken, you can actually take boneless dry chicken and purchase gravy separately, go home and dilute the gravy a little more as it is very spicy. If any one want's to know the exact location please let me know.

For Veg : Jai Durga Curry Point

Pls find below the location MAP. You can only see Mayuri curry point here, Jai Durga curry point is just at the junction of both the roads a little ahead of Mayuri.

Though the Veg place is very small, but proper care is taken while preparation and to a great extent hygiene is not an issue.

Sunday

Had dinner at a new place called " Hotel Vaishanoi" in Kacheguda. Its a very upmarket looking hotel and has interiors just like the Platinum Clove

It also had a separate smoking room just like an airport.

We had the following :-

1. Schezwan Fish ( Rs. 240)

It was excellent and one of the best that I had in a long time except that it was a wee bit spicy

2. Chicken Tikka ( Rs. 180)

Excellent. Melt in the mouth types

2. Mutton Biryani ( Rs. 175)

It was wonderful and mutton was perfectly cooked.

Monday

Ordered a home delivery from Bowl'O China, Himyathnagar

1. Chilly Garlic Prawns ( Rs. 250)

Prawns were big, juicy and extremely tasty. But, quantity was not satisfactory

2. Schwezwan Fish ( Rs. 225)

This was good too but, paled in comparison to the one we had on Sunday.

This place earlier used to have continental food (there was one tbhp lunch meet here sometime last year )

The management has changed (guess the conti food did not fly well )

Now its been run by a bong couple and they serve just about everything(including kolkata rolls )

Wife and me had:-

Chicken manchurian soup
Chicken Keema Paratha
Mutton Sheekh Kebab
Daal Tadka
Tutti Fruity Sundae
Cold Coffee with ice cream

Food was nice and well cooked

Sitting area is like an open area with neon lights and stone made benches and tables.(There is an option to sit indoors ,they have a pool table there)

They also serve hookah (incase anyone wishes to have that with the meal)

Total bill INR 900/-

I would reccomend this for like a quick bite ,service was fast..

Had a team lunch at the barbecue buffet.
19 of us. 1 was observing a navratri fast and hence had a fruit juice.
The remaining 18 had the buffet

Bill came to a total of 7675 after the discount and taxes.

There is NO AIR CONDITIONING

I found this really weird given that the outside temperature is quite high.
We sat in the open area, which is like a veranda.

They told us that it was reserved for someone else. But they sensed our mood and decided not to push their luck.

The fried fish was oily and salty.
The rest of the food was good. Actually quite good.
The chicken, mutton and fish were good. I did not like the chicken wings.
The vegetarian stuff was also quite good. I liked the pineapples.

Apart from the starters, I had some deserts. The blueberry cake was soggy and hard. The souffle was ok. There was some other chocolate desert. It was quite good.

I did not eat the main course so cannot comment on it. But the others in my team were happy with the food.

Had Buffet Lunch at SVM in Madhapur. (above Ratnadeep Super Market)

Food was average. They have some attractive Buffet + Bowling options / packages. Had good time Bowling after a long time

Can you describe the place please and also the prices/rates?

I think SVM Mall is on Road No. 36 in Jubilee Hills next to Pedamma Temple while Ratnadeep Super Market is in Madhapur just before My Home Hub / Navadweepa and the restaurant above Ratnadeep is Food N I.

The name is SVM Rush Sports. (franchisee of SVM - could be, not sure )
Looks like there is no package as such. Just confirmed from my team member who booked the place.

Weekdays buffet lunch is 279 + tax.
Bowling per game is 150.
One can have ala-carte and there is a BAR as well.

It is more like a SPORTS Lounge / Bar with football style theme.

Got a takeaway from Zurna a week back.

1, Mutton Biryani Jumbo Pack- 2 No's
2, Single Biryani Double Mutton-
3, Chicken Biryani &
4, Chicken Tikka- 5 No's.

The food was zimbly awesome and was devoured by 15 hungry souls here at Bangalore.

Total Damages-Rs 1630.

Forget 279++, We just came back from a team lunch Cinammon Fusion, a newly opened restaurant on third floor of the building which houses Venky's express in Hitec City opp to Cyber Gateway. It was a buffet on table kind of concept costing 413 All Incl. The owner of the place came for a feedback, he also said that the restaurant has opened only 5 days back and this is just an innaugral offer, they donot intend to serve buffet from next week and it will only be a-la-carte then. He also mentioned that the offer of 413 All Inclusive he provided is only a promotional offer and actual price of the "buffet" is "more" than that.
Coming to the "buffet"-
The taste of the food wasn't something that I would expect from a fine diner. The menu was - Lassi, Tom Yum soup, 2 veg/non veg starters, veg/non-veg pasta(which I didn't taste and no one was able to move beyond two spoons), followed by burnt garlic fried rice with shredded chicken/vegetables and Cinamisu as a dessert(modified version of Tiramisu).

The grains of rice in fried rice were all broken, not sure if it was due to inferior grain quality or over cooking. Over all there is nothing about the food that would make one want to go back but then after securing a "prime" location at Hitec city they don't need to worry about the food much. Pasta was microwaved as mentioned by a teammate. Only one of the chicken starter was outstanding, it was an indian kebab, well marinated and melt in the mouth type. The ambiance and service were good though and the area was spacious. The veggies in our team were however going gaga over the food. At 375+ taxes(413 AI) I would expect more variety. This one is surely not gonna be revisited by the team.

Waseem Bhai, Ranjit mostly looks at Veg Stuff. IIRC, Ranjit is a veggie, so Pakwaan, Friends and Gulf out of the list.

Oops sorry Nikhil,not sure how I gave out the impression that I was a veggie.am a true blue non-veggie with special interests in fishes(but then which mallu boy isnt!!)Thanks for the reccos Waseem & Anirrudha.I hope the other half of mine approves of these places.I have seen the Gulf Restaurant many a time but never went in till date.I have this eerie feeling that we would ultimately head out to Southern Mirchi(our new found muse)or Rajdhani for lunch or maybe would try a takeaway from Zurana and eat in the car.

Has anybody tried out Salz?Their menu and pricing on Burrp looks very very expensive,though not sure about their food.They have put up those flexi boards all the way from Cinemax till Jubilee CP signal on the median.

OT:Bhabha's Chulha is going down the drain in the department of hygiene.The other day we went there and ended up not buying anything seeing the condition of the place-yuck.Why do hoteliers think that just because they price their dishes less it gives them the license to pay nil attention to cleanliness.We are looking for an alternative place for Kolkata Rolls now.The Roll Call is again no good imho.Any pointers beri beri belcome!

Another OT:Carnation has this lovely service called WOW(Workshop on wheels)and is very very impressive.Detailing and workmanship is very impressive with extremely competitive rates and offers.I am slowly moving away from my useless Mody Ford ASC at Gunrock(they are least bothered about what you tell them or what you dont tell them!)
