Yes, they do serve Pakoda's with the Kadi Chawal. The Pakoda's are good but what I love the most is their Kadi. YUMMY. Have been there a number of times due to the proximity to office and always loved the food there. Chole-Bhature, Kadi Chawal, Rajma Chawal and Lassi. This is one place, I would love going to again and again.

re: A Guide: Eating out in Hyderabad/Secunderabad/Cyberabad

Finally, visited "13 Dhaba" for lunch yesterday

At 1pm, it was brimming with crowd and had a long queue for paying up and getting the dishes

Highest priced dish is Rs.50 which makes this place total VFM

We ordered everything :-

1. Chole Bathure (Excellent)
2. Gobi Parantha (Super Excellent)
3. Kadi Chawal (Excellent but, had just one pakora)
4. Rajma Chawal (Excellent)
5. Chole Chawal ( Didnt taste)
6. Lassi ( Excellent)

Each and every dish was superb and had a homely feel to it. Very hygenic kitchen and owner is from Delhi and in Hyderabad from last 2 years

Only gripe, I had my lunch standing as no place to sit down also

Must Visit !!

Any info on if Yum Yum Tree has started their outlet in Banjara Hills ? The Ala Boom shop is kind of far plus major hassles with parking.

You liked YYT so much that waiting for a city outlet?

Been there only once. I liked the Burger and Mandi but, it was not so earth shattering that I would be yearning to go back.

Mandi iam given to understand is also good at Dinehill ( bang in city)

Burgers, nothing to beat King & Cardinal. Period !!

Was in Hyd last week, the Beef biriyani (christened mutton biryani with beef in brackets ) was just right and made the trek from Hitec city to Mehdipatnam worth it.

Folks hung up on ambience will be disappointed

As you seem to have a taste for the original cafe style biryanis.

Try Al-Saba next time, they are off Hitec City enroute Gachibowli (Just before the flyover)

If you could go a little ahead till Tolichowki, you can even try Mandar. Pls do not pack their Biryani. Eat it then and there for best results.

Also I found Biryani at following places to be quite good.

1) Just Biryani (They have a small counter outside Heritage fresh on the Botanical gardens main road. They only have packed Biryani though.
2) Olive House: On the same road.
3) Ulavacharu Biryani at Spice Village, Kondapur, after police battalion signal (If you like a touch of Andhra style cooking)
4) 4 seasons near Google office.

After reading this and plethora of reviews from Zomato, took the plunge and visited Prince to surprise my wife for womens day.
She is a great lover of beef.
Took 30 minutes to reach this place from Kukatpally. The hotel is small, not a pleasing ambience. Bit the food is too good.
Ordered for family pack beef biryani. Tala hua ghost. The grill and tandoori were not available at that noon time.
The biryani was full of masala, spicy. The beef pieces were juicy and rightly cooked.
Tala hua ghost was too good with chunks of beef pieces cooked to right medium.
Wife felt the complete dish was a bit salty, but i felt its worth travelling 30km to and fro to taste this biryani.
Will i go again, yes

re: A Guide: Eating out in Hyderabad/Secunderabad/Cyberabad

Yesterday, some of the Team-BHPians visited " Mekong" in Marigold, Ameerpet for a Sunday Brunch priced at 1299 INR

It was one of the best brunches that i enjoyed in a long long time.

It included a lot of unlimited mocktails freshly made and also cuisine from every possible country in far east asia. Taste for almost every dish was phenomenal. Best part was everything was served on table including the main course as we were a group of 12 people

Overall it was great ambience, lovely company and super awesome food.

Our brunch lasted from 1pm-5pm ...

Here is what was served there :-

Snacks
1. Prawns Fry
2. Fish Fry
3. Chicken Satay
4. Sushi (Crab, Prawns, Fish and Veg)
5. Diced/Sliced Lamb
6. Veg Corquettes
7. Manchuria
8. Soups

Main Course
Jasime Rice
Noodles
Thai Curries
Fried Rice

Dessert
Jaggery Based Icecream
Puffed Cream
Chef Speciality ( Some nice ingredients which tasted like jelly in icecream)

It's a must visit if you like seafood and oriental cuisine. We plan to do it again in April 2014

re: A Guide: Eating out in Hyderabad/Secunderabad/Cyberabad

I would like suggestions on a good hotel preferably in the Begumpet/Kukatpally area for a dinner for a group of about 10-15 people (families). I am also open to the Banjara Hills area also.

No restrictions on the cuisine; only that it should be non-vegetarian also.

Sholay would fit the bill as it is a multicuisine restaurant @ Begumpet.

Awesome food and great ambiance.
