Spying on Neighbours

Before you get spicy about the headline, kindly don't get any wild thoughts

Intention in here is to find out the neighbours which come close to your vehicle number.

I prefer to look for the same series numbers to know more about my neighbours and the like.

Recently I spotted a neighbour of mine, who also owns a swift silver with ARMY sticker. He is 4 spots ahead of the last digit of my vehicle number. My other neighbour owns a red alto, just ahead of me in the number series.

Do any of you guys ever found anything similar like this ? Or

well not exactly but close. I had gone to get my ford serviced and I saw a guy with another ford , same color (black) with a difference of just one number from mine.
Mine is HR-XXX-***4 , he had HR-XXX-***5 (everything same but the last digit

I can understand people comparing bhp figs but number plates? Thats just wierd. LOL

BTW my number is 9992, only 8 people can be ahead of me unless they have 5 digit numbers.

Somewhat similar habit: Keep a track of vehicle number & series and know/recognise many people by their vehicle numbers.

I have noticed a Fiesta 1.6 (ZXI though), same colour as mine (Moondust Silver) staying in the next apartment block, just ONE number ahead of me (xxx1 whereas mine is xxx2). Probably taken delivery from the same dealer on the same day but hadn't bumped into each other in the showroom

Well, in my colony, we dont compare car number plates!! We compare how many cars we have!! Also, most of us park on the road so we try and "book" our fav spots. For example, i have monopoly on the footpath, or if more of my fiats are in bombay, road outside my building has only my cars parked there!! And then i get lots of Dirty Stares!!

I have seen a Maruti Zen (Blue in colour) bearing exactly the same no. as that of my car (4193). The series is just the difference different. My is in NA & his is PA series. I had even taken pics of the car when I saw it for the 1st time.

Its funny how we refer to our cars as ourselves.
I havent seen a person with a number plate or Moondust Silver colored skin

This is appropriate.

No offense meant!

I thought this was funny but what is more hilarious is that I have actually noticed a few cars and they straight away came to my mind.
I know of a honda city (ohc) which also ends with MB 91 only th RTO code is different else all is same., know a skoda with 91 too

I do it all the time. I recognize a lot of people by their registration numbers. On one trip to Madras from Bangalore, just as I was crossing Attibele junction, I saw a maroon Alto with number 253 (IIRC, everything else was the same as akroy's Alto).

I often rack my head trying to place a familiar car by the registration number.

Yeah it sounds funny to the person listening to it but we tend to use it all the time.

Things like :
My exhaust note is louder than yours, i have a more aggressive cam, checkout my boot space, pop your hood....hahahaha.
