The interest is still not updated for the last financial year, this is 2 months after the financial year ended. not sure what the delay is for, since back in April they mentioned that the interest would be credit in couple of weeks.

Re: The "Provident Fund" Thread

A question to the pundits. My wife joined an ecommerce firm in Aug 2014 and was with them for just over a year until Oct 2015. Her employer, which has a PF trust (and not RPFC) was not able to get a UAN number account created for her due to some 'technical glitch' and it was left at that after she quit. She is since working as a contractor with a large firm and of course, she does not have a PF account here.

Prior to that stint, she was employed with an MNC from 2004 - 2011. She had withdrawn her entire PF kitty with them sometime in 2015, instead of transferring it to the ecomm firm mentioned above. That was of course, the pre UAN days.

My question is, can she get a UAN account created on her own? Being a contractor currently means she no longer has PF privileges and cannot transfer her PF balance from her ecommerce stint. Am not sure if she can even withdraw the balance w/o a UAN (I understand this would have tax implications as she had w/d her balance with her past employers and continuity of membership is broken)

Re: The "Provident Fund" Thread

Hi. Does anyone know when the PF transfer site will be up? It's been down for almost forever now.

Also, if the site is down - Is there a manual way to get PF transferred from previous employer to current employer?

Try the above website to activate your UAN and then you should be able to view your passbook.

Thanks for this.

When I try to activate the UAN, it says it's already activated. I then tried the "Forgot Password" and changed my password. But after doing that, when I go to the passbook page and try to login, it says "Invalid UAN or Password".

The "helpline" number given at the top of that page does not work either.

Since the interest is credited in June, how would it work for someone who had already withdrawn their PF in April or May?

I think you should still get it, because the interest is for the financial year 2016-17, which ended in March.

Re: The "Provident Fund" Thread

Just yesterday, I had logged into the website and downloaded the passbook.
There was no interest credit shown in it.
Today, the interest credit is shown !

I was waiting for this (interest credit) to check on the status of my PF transfer.
Had switched to a new company towards the end of last year.
The PF account number for the old company is still shown under my UAN login.
Both the old account and the new account have received an interest credit for FY 2016-2017.

I guess this means that the PF transfer to my PF account with my current company, has not happened. But since they are both linked to the same UAN, is this something to be worried about ?
