Vijay, I am assuming that you saw these adverts on newspapers or lampposts. There is very little truth in such ads (maybe 5%), so treat any dealing with caution.
Regarding jobs online, where you can work from home, yes, you can do that, but you better have good skills (programming, designing, writing, etc). If you do, then there are lots of sites that can help you make a decent amount of money, sitting in the comfort of your home.

Vijay, the best ones are
  • Guru.com
  • RentACoder.com
  • ScriptLance.com
  • GetAFreelancer.com
  • GetACoder.com
and many others.

All the best in your search.

Be careful about the ads in the classifieds section. Chances are that you will end up being cheated.

There are many technology blogs which will hire you and pay you per article/word. I've done it myself and earned around 100k inr in a short while (less than a year), though that isn't much for the time I was putting in.

These sites work very well. Know quite a few people who left jobs and earning through these.

However, be prepared to spend few months building up your "network" by doing things cheap.

Ones you have happy customers, word of mouth will get you more work then you can possibly handle.

Further to that, it would also help to create a personal website with information, references, previous projects, samples etc. A 5 page website shouldn't cost more than 5,000 rupees, but will add a professional touch to your profile. This will help in generating more business.

We have hired a coder from getafreelancer atleast once. Took all the necessary precautions and thus, project completion was a breeze.

All these are ripoff. Most of these are MLM schemes in disguise of work from home.
