Raj Thackeray Arrested! Mumbai - Stay put

Guys,

Reports of violence and general unrest in Mumbai are sprouting up. Some parts of the suburbs, Worli, Thane and Parel have reported incidents. As you would know, Raj Thackeray has been arrested and is due to be produced in the Bandra Court as I type this.

Please stay put wherever you are, whether at home or at work. Not a good time to travel on the road or using public transport.

Note : This is NOT a political discussion so please refrain from making comments on the MNS.

Forget Mumbai, as any ordinary citizen of India has experienced, India has very little rule of law.

I travelled from Bandra - Lands end to Navi Mumbai around two hours ago. The roads are virtually empty. Saw a couple of trucks with smashed windshields on the way.

Looks like the entire city is playing it safe, beter to stay indoors since more violence is expected to erupt.

I am at work. Left Chembur @ 9 am and reached the office in 25 minutes. Nothing on the way but I heard reports that our workers were caught near the MIDC entry and made to say - Jai Maharashtra. Some were beaten up too.

Better to be safe than sorry. It's best not to move out anywhere for a couple of hours at least.

Can't you manage some covered parking close by? You shouldn't travel now for sure.

Rickshaws forced to stop plying in many areas. Bus routes ending prematurely. Unrest increasing, good idea to stay put till evening.

Scooby sir,
You can park at the Taj (valet) and then walk back, its just a minute's walk. This would be the best to keep the vehicle safe.

Once the situation improves you can always go back home, else if you want to go home its safest, also a lot of staff may have not reported to offices all over.

I think we are neighbours with you at Colaba.

Cheers

@ scooby05 - if there is a shopping mall (with covered parking) nearby - park the car there, if the area where office is located, is still calm.

it is better to stay at home / office like everyone said.

For your Information Taj parks the cars in the bylanes!! they do not use their basement now for 4/5 years! So whats the point.
And on a lighter note, if i have to go to park at the Taj, might as well Park myself too at Harbour Bar

Some stones pelted at a company bus taking employees to work this morning in Kothrud, Pune. By and large, it seems to be quite peaceful so far
