When you mentioned this in your first post, I sort of ignored it thinking it was in jest. But when you repeated the second time, I was kinda interested. What weapons if you may kindly elaborate?

Very true and by law one is required to

Now in real life, if you carry all the originals in your car and the car gets stolen then the thief gets access to all the original papers too and gets a very good resale value !!!

This too is true and many don't carry the originals

Therefore, I just carry my original license in my wallet and the photocopy of the other three documents. If ever police needs to see the originals they can keep my car and I would bring them from home.

My Scorpio's RC issued by Haryana Govt is a single sheet of hard paper the like of visiting card and laminated. I scanned the original RC at a very high resolution and printed it on a similar kind of hard paper and laminated. It looks better than the original.. I keep this along with the original Insurance cover note. Driving licence is original and in my wallet.

However, before long drives out of town I always carry all the original papers with me.

Same here
I too forgot to add the Jump starter and the analog tyre pressure gauge in my list of things..

Here in Bombay/Mumbai Traffic cops remember a face, its part of their training. Our newspapers have reported cops remembering a face of a person who was caught for an offence some months ago.

A duplicate note will bring in the funny stuff about "Possession and transportation of counterfeit currency" I prefer the genuine ones to help alleviate poverty and unwanted headaches.

Cheers

I just joking man! But for Traffic Cops, my Pocket Pen has an inbuilt Video Camera which always records my conversation with traffic police. But they never charged me a single paisa because of my stupid visiting card.

And yes, Now I am bringing a steering wheel and Engine too. Oh, I forget to add the GearBox!!!

Your profile mentions your occupation as a software engineer, but the things that you carry conveys, either you are a private eye or.....don't want to hazard a guess further.

Now the visiting card bit has added more mystery.. Care to come clean to satiate the aroused curiosity?

Its interesting how many things people keep in their cars, based on the posts so far.

I for one cannot keep ANYTHING in the car because it has to be uncluttered inside. I cant stand cars full of plastic bottles, sandals, biscuit packets and what not - obviously these things are sometimes in the car, but only when they are being used. Nothing is kept inside for good - 99% of the time my car is free of everything except the camera and flashlight in the glovebox, the ipod in the centre console and the sonofagun dash polish and a pack of scratch remover tucked away out of sight in the seat-back pockets.

Santosh, why do you regularly carry around a camera in your car?

So do I. One, not to miss out on any good photo opportunity, second in case of a scrap, comes handy. Ain't it?

Makes sense, Guru bhai. I usually rely on a mobile cam, though.
Camera makes sense, though.

Kya yaar - people carry around all sorts of things from shirts to sneakers to dogfood. Dont tell me this was the only thing that caught your attention?

Most of our long drives are often on the spur of the moment and I often forget to carry my camera kit (yeah the DSLR experience got really complicated with different lenses and other gear), so I have a standby Nikon 8800 in the car. And no I'm not a phonecam guy - I use HTC phones where the camera is purely decorative.
