Re: What items do you always carry in your car / glovebox?

don't know if this the best place to mention this...

this is more like "what do i want to add to my car/boot for sure"

I saw a boot that had an elastic net that had the four corners fastened to the floor board

serves as a hold for sneakers, extra bottle etc and this way it wont 'run' around like mice every time when we turn the car!

can someone tell me where to get this?

Re: What items do you always carry in your car / glovebox?

Came across 2 gadgets in a friends car

*Laser interceptor (works for radars and lasers) havent seen it in action but would love the end result of this 'almost essential' item LOL

*12v Car vacuum cleaner, not a ching chong, sing song type, but a solid piece that can be neatly tucked in to the boot.

I'm surely gonna get the V cleaner, but as far as the interceptor, it will take all my bread and butter to get that Jammer..

Re: What items do you always carry in your car / glovebox?

I store a variety of things in my car:

Glovebox
  1. Car documents
  2. An umbrella - A lightweight, compact, windproof umbrella with automatic opening and closing from Korjo.
  3. Philips Penlight Professional LED torch - This LED flashlight torch is waterproof and has a single beam of 3600 lux and a wide beam of 250 lux.
  4. Microfiber duster with foldable handle

Driver-side door pocket
  1. Hand sanitizer
  2. Wallet
  3. Eatables
  4. Nick-nacks
  5. A pack of face wipes

Cubby hole
  1. Loose change
  2. Co-passenger's phone (my phone is usually mounted on dashboard)
  3. Keys
  4. Toll tickets

Bottle holder
1 litre water bottle

Boot
  1. Extra bottle of drinking water
  2. Car cover
  3. Car duster
  4. One quick detailing microfiber towel
  5. One lint-free microfiber towel for windscreen
  6. Quick detailing solution in spray bottle
  7. Purified water in spray bottle

I am looking for suggestions on what more things can I put in the passenger-side front door pocket and seat cover pockets. I am also wondering what can I store below the front seats. Below the passenger front seat I already keep a can of perfume, attached with double sided tape. Can I move the two microfiber towels from the boot and keep them below the driver seat? That way they will be more accessible, yet out of sight. Little chance of them getting dirty as I have 3D mats which contain the dust very well. Is it possible to install storage bins below the seats?

Re: What items do you always carry in your car / glovebox?

My new addition has been the magnetic sun shade / screen that is customized to each model, this way when its hot we jus stick it on and take it off by night! i got fed up with the poor quality of those suction models and this one i got for my terrano has a case to keep it safe too! plus a zipper on the driver side to pay tolls etc... nice This is gonna stay!

Oh Btw i got it online on amazon cost me jus half of what the local store was asking for.

Re: What items do you always carry in your car / glovebox?

Where can I get a document organizer?

My documents are stored in a plastic holder that Maruti dealer provided at the time of purchase. It is quite ordinary but fits inside the glove compartment easily. It has to be folded once (attains a size of ~ 6" x 4") before putting it in the glove box.

I am looking for a better product, with similar dimensions as above, with a pocket for the smart card, provision to keep a pen, and other useful pockets.

This product on Amazon could well serve my purpose but it is too large for my glove box and priced way above what I would like to spend. https://www.amazon.in/High-Road-Auto.../dp/B000HZRTDE

Re: What items do you always carry in your car / glovebox?

What my Car carries:

Glovebox:
Photocopies of car documents
LED Torch light
Chocolates
9 inch Carving Knife (ostensibly for cutting fruits)

Under the Gear Lever:
Coins
Toll Receipts
Leatherman Wingman Multi tool kit

Driverside door Pocket:
Fire extinguisher
Pepper Spray
WD40 Spray
Microfiber cloth

Beneath Driver seat:
Umbrella
Axe with 1.5 feet handle
Steering Lock
50 piece Toolkit

I like suspense only in movies and hence I would like to be reasonably prepared in my journeys.

Something like this?

https://www.amazon.in/TRANBO-Expandi...-1-spons&psc=1

It may be a little too big for the glovebox though.

The toolkit is from Bosch. It originally contained some 44 pieces. I have added Allen Keys, Tweezer, Cutting pliers and box cutters.

For long trips, I also carry a steel Jerry Can 20 L. Some times the quality of diesel available on the way in small towns is not so good. This extends my normal distance by at least another 200 km.
