I have got four sill plates for the S Cross. These are barely used, as I got the illuminated plates installed, within a few days of the delivery.

These are available for pick up from my residence (Bannerghatta Road) or my work place (Kanakapura Road).

Or occasionally in Rajajinagar.

These tyres are available to any one who wants them. Note that the tyres are 185/60 R14

PS:
I wanted a 185/70 R14, and picked up these. However, after returning home, realised that there was a mistake in the specs mentioned. The tyres are 185/60 R14 and not 185/70 R14. Hence not suitable for our car.

Have some old Lata Mangeshkar and Jagjit Singh cassettes to give away (picture attached). I do not know if these still work since I do not have a cassette player to try them on.

These can be picked from West Delhi (Paschim Vihar) or Gurgaon (Sector 39). Let me know if anyone is interested.

My 14 years old Opel Astra is a looking for an enthusiast who loves to collect old cars and keeps them in shape or someone who would like to restore this beast to its original glory and keep it that way.

About
Car: Opel Astra 1.6 GSI With Multi-Port Fuel Injection
Fuel Type: Petrol
Registration No. : AP-12 XX NNNN
Registered: November, 2002
Registration Valid Up to: November, 2017
Fuel Economy: 8-9 KMPL (Best was around 10.5 KMPL when it was healthy)
Insurance: Expired in February, 2016. Not renewed.
Location: Gachibowli, Hyderabad, Telangana
Ownership history: Original owner > His son > Me > Wife > You

The Glorious Days
I purchased this car in July, 2011 at 86,400 KMs on the odometer. Car was in perfect running condition with minor electrical glitches here and there. It was my first car BTW. I just loved it from the day one. I still remember right after getting the keys we took it straight to the ORR and that was one hell of a ride. The engine sound when you are on the wrong side of the tachometer is mind blowing. We took it several road trip to nearby places. The max we ran it in a day was 650 KMs for a round trip to Kuntala Waterfalls. During my ownership, I have pushed this car to its limits and it has seen speeds (on closed roads) my Honda City never saw or will not even be able reach.

The Downfall
When I purchased a Honda City in March, 2013, Astra automatically became a secondary car. After that it was mostly driven by our driver to take my wife to office. I did continue to use it on weekend for quick drives just for that love of the engine sound. I must admit that I never loved the Honda City the way I loved this car. Though Honda City is a much refined car in every aspect, it just doesn't have that raw feel to it. Those heavy German doors are still missed. After my wife quit her job to enable us to take long duration road trips, Astra was just lost in time. I could no longer take time out even for those short drives. It degraded to a level that one fine day (sometime in December, 2015), it just refused to start. I no longer had the time or motivation to keep struggling with it and just gave up. After that, it is parked in our visitor's parking. I am pretty sure by now the battery will be dead.

What Now?
I have two options now.
  • Scrap the car and earn whatever a scrap dealer has to offer.
  • Find out a car enthusiat and hand it over to him/her so that s/he can keep it alive for some time.

I am totally against scrapping this car as that will just kill a car that can still go on for years. On the positive side, that may earn me some money but it'll still not be worth it.

If you are too much into cars and are serious about keeping it alive, you can have it for free but there are certain conditions.
  • You'll have to get it transferred to your name before you actually get to take it away. You'll have to bear all the associated costs. I'll cover parking/other fines.
  • You'll have to tow it away as the chances of getting it started are probably below zero.
  • I'll not be responsible for any of your loss (financial or otherwise) in any form if you fail to get it working.

The car in its original glory. With that tint (~70%), it looks like a beast. This was before supreme court decided to ruin our cars.

All shiny. Notice the dull alloys. Look real sad.

That's when I decided to DIY paint them bright red. The paint job was not all that awesome but they looked good.

When they decided to dig a bore-well nearby.

Over a period a time, I changed the seat covers. Switches to roll down window glasses broke every time we drove in a little drizzle with windows rolled down. Electricals in this car are real bad. And then you don't have parts available.

Current Condition

Faux wooden panel. Something you won't find in today's cars in this segment.

Hand stitched faux-leather steering wheel cover. Red color has faded a little since it spent a lot of time in the sun.

Red & Black seat covers just for that sporty look this car deserves. They are all like new. Again hand stitched.

Same for the rear seat. The hand rest can be pulled out.

JK Tornado. I think they are reaching their end of live. Plus they haven't moved for 7-8 months now.

I hope someone finds their next love in this car and save this from getting reduced to ashes.

Is it tyre+rim or tyre alone?

My colleague's Swift steel rim is damaged and needs one, he does not need tyre.

A free Opel Astra! Wow, I hope this turns into one of those great little DIY projects that brings the car back to full glory (seems quite possible in this case!).
