It would seem that gout is a possibility, considering that the SUA is 7.7. You can try and put him on febuxostat 80 mg twice daily and see the response. It is a safe drug and should take care of the problem.

I have a deep filling on

tooth. Top part of the filling is wearing off and has formed a crator. No sensitivity but I am scared to get the filling replace as the tooth might end up in a root canal with a deep filling. Is there any way to repair the filling w/o completely taking it out.

He has perpetually enlarged tonsils on either side of the throat which make swallowing of food rather tough. My husband's friend who is a doctor with a reputed hospital recommended some antibiotics, which did not help for long - tonsils remained enlarged. The same doctor has recommended removing the tonsils by operation or using alternative medicine like homeopathy. Many people have mentioned that chronic problems like tonsilis can be cured effectively by homeopathy. I have never tried this branch of medicine on my children.

If any of you have tried homeopathic treatment with success for your children, please share your experience with me. Also, can anyone recommend a good homeopath in Delhi?

Absolutely no reason to touch them if they are not impacting the adjoining teeth or the jaw structure.
Well being an allopathic guy i would never recommend trying homeopathic treatment. I am just an MBBS preparing for post graduation exams but since i do suffer from chronic tonsillitis i have become quite an expert in the matter. Recommendation for a tonsillectomy is based on the number of days wasted due to sickness. I certainly did qualify for the criteria. But i tried Betadine gargles whenever i had pain in my throat, and i had to take antibiotics only once in the past 2 years. It made a lot of difference. Do certainly try them once before tonsillectomy or homeopathy.

Depends on what kind of filling it is: Silver amalgam or Composite?

An amalgam filling is not patchable. Even for the composite, i would recommend a new filling, maybe just leave a wee bit at the base if the doctor is not confident (it's the doctor's call, not yours).

I would be more worried about why is your filling wearing away, and that too on the third molar. Do you have a plunger cusp? Are you clenching / grinding your teeth?

I am looking for a good homoeopath in Bombay preferrably around Ghatkopar area. Does anyone know of a good physician? It would be great help.

Thanks for a. Quick response. It is the second molar. No 7 and not 8 as I depicted below by mistake.
It is a sandwitch (ZOE/glass ionomer/composite) with ZOE as base layer. The current filling is 7 years old - done to replace a cracking glass ionomer filling. The first filling was done 11 years ago and the reco at that time was to go in for a root canal, which I resisted.

Composite should do the work again. Your dentist needs to check why it cracked first time and is wearing off so fast. (high point in lower filling also could be the cause or plunger cusp or grinding of your teeth).

This call needs to be taken on examination. There's very little i can do by advising from here without seeing the tooth.

Any help would be much appreciated

A friend has come from abroad. He takes pottasium and magnesium supplements to help with muscle cramps. He wants to know the name of these supplements available in India so that he can buy it from the medical shops. Can someone help?

If you have tingling of your hands you should get an X-ray or even better an MRI done. In the mean time you should take pain killers with muscle relaxants. Hot fomentation does help with the pain and spasm in most cases.

Cheers.

Tingling sensation in the fingers and hand point out to spondylosis of cervical vertebra( atleast that was the diagnosis in my case. I was having the problem on the left hand)

The ortho took more than an year to confirm it. i was subjected to SW Diathermy on the left back, more than 4 X rays etc etc. One Ayurvedic doctor diagnosed it just by the description of symptoms as spondylosis. MRI confirmed it. I got the cure by homeopathic medicine ( Spigelia 30 , 15 doses on alternate days).

Better get MRI of cervical vertebra done and than try a good homeopath

Sorry to barge in like this but there are a few pointers for you from my side (with due respect)

1. Tingling and numbness might be a feature of other problems beside Cervical spondylosis.
2.Since spondylosis is a age related disease most old people will show features of spondylosis in their X-rays or MRI irrespective of symptoms.
Take 10 perfectly normal healthy 55-60 years old for an X-ray and their report will show spondylosis.
3. Since it is a age related problem there is no CURE as such.
The plan is to prevent and/or alleviate symptoms. Treatment range from pain-killers to physiotherapy to naturo-therapy, aromatherapy, homeopathy. ayurveda, accu-puncture and accu-pressure, various massage, aromatherapy, surgery, to any thing that will help the patient.

Cheers
