No doctors required! Good rest, reduce stress, and drink plenty of fluids.

And remember that humans, even the female ones, do come with imperfections

You are right Thad, and whatever you have mentioned here she has been already doing them. But, I read somewhere dark circles appear due to certain deficiency that may arise from some specific illness.

I want to check with a doctor if she is facing something like that. The dark circles are very prominent and personally I feel her skin needs medication, hence the lookout for a good doctor.

Sometimes, dyeing your hair can cause dark circles. You may also try to do a liver function test. Also, late nights and long hours in front of the computer can cause these problems.

It is very much significant and if allowed to progress can lead to a multitude of medical complications. Do get it properly investigated and diagnosed and with treatment of the underlying disease, it will go back to normal.

You need to give more details for any useful opinion.

re: Calling doctors/dentists/specialists on Team-BHP to provide free consultations

Hi docs,

I have a peculiar problem, for the last 2-3 years i am unable to enjoy anything be it outings with friends or family, etc. I only seem to enjoy stuff when i am a little high, if not high my life is at pedestrian pace even though it should be enjoyable(as per my mates).

I do not want to always resort to being high to enjoy stuff. So should i consult a psychologist or is it addressable at a personal level?
Admittedly i am always a little depressed so any tips are appreciated.

ENT people, Audiologists...

Having gone to my ENT doc yesterday for a cleanout, which I seem to need regularly, and taken a hearing test whilst I was there, It looks like it is hearing-aid time for me.

That's one whole area of buying advice that's needed: I'm prepared to budget from one to two lakh for a pair, with the priority being sound quality, and especially not making music sound horrible.

What I'd like to know now, though, is something different. Given that I have an audiologist's report, how would I translate that, taking into account the natural loudness curve of human hearing, into a set of EQ settings for my PC/media-player that will restore accuracy to my perception of the music? How to translate dBBHL to dB on the equalizer scale?

Comfort is easy, obviously just a matter of trying, but accuracy is another matter which, equally obviously, cannot be reproduced pragmatically.

Given that I am using a studio version of Linux, all the tools, from simple EQ to parametric, are available. I just don't know what to do with all those numbers!

re: Calling doctors/dentists/specialists on Team-BHP to provide free consultations

A small query regarding my eye. I am twenty and from the past ten years, I am said to have a power of -0.25/0.5, which all the while was constant even though I did not wear glasses regularly. I started wearing glasses of the same power from around three years back, as my studies as well as computer usage had increased. Also when driving on the highway or concentrating on a distant object for a long time, I would get a headache if I were not wearing spectacles.

Lately, I felt the glasses were uncomfortable. I was expecting a change in power, or a rather drastic one as my lifestyle had all possiblities of affecting it.
I consulted an eye specialist in a reputed hospital. After examination, she guessed the symptoms and I confirmed the same. She concluded that I had dry eyes. I do agree upon that as after some amount of studying or computer usage, I can hardly open my eyes.

Also, my power was the same. As per their test, it was -0.5/-0.5D, which is a minor change. The doctor feels that my vision defect could be due to dry eyes and not actual power. Is this possible?

She prescribed refresh tears eye drops. They seem to do a good job. I can experience sharper vision without glasses too. Haven't gone for the follow up yet. I am following the eye excersies she taught, but still I am dependent upon the drops. Is there a permanent fix to dry eyes? Also, can vision be blurred due to dry eyes?

Team, any suggestion or recommendations for a Gynaecologist in Bangalore. My wife and I are expecting our first baby end of this year. We are not too pleased with our current gynaecologist. Thanks in advance.

Doctors, need your help here. I have been having a dry-cough for quite sometime now. The ENT I consult usually gives me some medicines post which the cough would disappear temporarily only to come back after say a couple of months.

This time I consulted a different ENT who asked me to take throat swab test the result of which came as:

Type of culture: Aerobic
Organism grown: Beta - Hemolytic Streptococcus
Sensitive to: Cefixime, Streptomycin, Netillin, Azithromycin

I was prescribed Cefixime, Azithrol, Bifilac and Sinarest for a week - the last day being today. I don't see any good improvement as such.

Btw, both the doctors told me that my throat is reddish in color and its because of severe infection. I also have heavy flum formation in throat.

I am really worried now as I think this might lead to/be the start of some other bigger problem. Please advise me on this one.

Chennai-ites: Suggestions/recommendations on some really good ENT specialists are welcome.

Edit: I was also prescribed Disoral and Betadine mouthwash/gargle.

Hi vijay

I came across your post by chance. I am a pulmonologist. I want to know whether you also have frequent headaches, nasal blocks & a sense of phlegm hitting the back of your throat when you take a deep sniff & any wheeze ?

I do not know any ENT in chennai though.
