from what I have heard, seen or read, a lot of these issues do go away as children get older. Their immunity improves, metabolism changes, hormones change etc. I am sure your doctor has done his check up but I suggest taking a second opinion from an experienced doctor. It's better to find out if there is an underlying cause that can be treated early on.

At almost the same time, my last boss and I both had hernia ops. His was laproscopic, mine was traditional. Both only required day surgery, but he was back at work after 24 hours rest, whereas I was told to take a week.

I got the better deal

I had a Root Canal done on Tooth #30 as per the diagram. Tooth #29 is already missing due to extraction earlier . Now the dentist has advised me to go for a bridge for 3 teeth, the RC tooth, the missing tooth and tooth #28.

I want to go for a cap only for the RC tooth to avoid the expenses of the bridge. Now I wanted to know will there be any problem if I do not fill the missing tooth and only go for 1 cap ?

if i ever got a hernia surgery done, i would take the lap route. I dont want some scary looking incision down there.

The bridge will help the tooth in the long run.

If you do not replace a missing tooth, soon your adjacent teeth start tilting towards the empty space thereby spoiling your bite and opening more spaces for food lodgment elsewhere as a domino effect starts.

Also the tooth from the opposing arch starts to supra erupt. Soon, it's root is exposed and you will get sensitivity. Also once the opposing tooth has supra erupted and adjacent teeth have tilted and then you decide to replace the missing tooth, your options are limited and the final treatment is compromised.

Wow!! didn't know this thread existed; GREAT INITIATIVE Tejas

I am in need of advice as well. My wife had been suffering from gum bleeding; visited a dentist and got the scaling & polishing done. The following teeth maintenance activities have been advised to her.

1. Massaging gums with "Metrohex" gel; twice a day for one week.
2. Chlohex 0.2% mouthwash; twice a day after brushing, diluted 1 tsp in half a glass of water, for three to four weeks.

I read in one of the posts that gum massaging is not recommended and that mouthwash should be used Undiluted one hour after brushing. Please advise.

There is nothing like a full mouthful of teeth --- even if some of them are not strictly real!

All those gaps will feel bad, your chewing efficiency is reduced, and maybe even the shape of your face might suffer.

If only I could have afforded implants over most of my tooth-loosing life!

Thanks to all for the advice. Looks like this month is going to be very tight. But better get it done now than suffer in old age

Apply burnol. Go see your doctor for debridement (cleaning of the wound). Hope you rinsed immediately under cold running water. Take a pain killer if needed.

@sheetumanu

yes, you've answered your own questions correctly.

you should have a tt injection if you have not had one recently.
apply silver sulfa ointment plus an antibiotic, preferably clox 500mg twice daily for 3 days
if you are a diabetic, please consult a doctor

I am suffering from Cervical Herniated Disc issue for the past year or so. Because of this, my left hand is getting affected. During the initial days i was having severe pain in my neck and arm and managed with prescribed medicines and pain killers. Cervical traction helped a little but did not solve the problem. The doctors wanted to try cervical epidural shots, and if it did not help then surgery will be the only hope. I did not take any shots though. Now i do not get much pain, but the symptoms are still there and i am afraid to use my left hand for any physical activities. My left hand also feels less active than before but not in a worrisome level. What can i do to improve my condition? I do not want to go through the surgery route though.

Age occupation and lifestyle are important factors.

Thanks Tejas; would like to trouble you with two more:

1. Mouthwash to be used one hour after brushing. Can we eat/drink anything during this interval, because again we cannot eat/drink for an hour after mouthwash?

2. After rinsing thoroughly with mouthwash, should we rinse with water as well so as to clean any mouthwash residue?
