Any recommendations for good eye specialists around Rajarajeshwari Nagar? There is one retard in Ideal homes circle who charges Rs.250 extra (over his normal consultation fees of Rs.200) if I just want the prescription and don't want to buy the spectacles at his clinic. I want to buy my frame from Titan eye+ or somewhere else.

Then don't go to the "retard". No one is forcing you to. Please refrain from calling names on the forum.

Thats precisely why I am asking for recommendations here NOM to anyone. If a doctor is forcing people to buy spectacles from his clinic or he will charge double to just hand out the prescription, I find it appalling frankly. This is supposed to be a noble profession and charging double just to hand out a prescription is ethically wrong and against everything what Doctor's stand for and have pledged their oath during their studies or whatever! Don't even get me started on the present swarm of businessmen in the medical profession. Of course, I can't generalize and I agree there are a few still left who want to serve the people. But its perfectly alright to have an opinion and voice it on a forum like this, if you don't like my personal opinion, "nobody is forcing you to read it sir"!

My 2 paise!

Since this is an open forum people will read it no matter what. You cannot compare it to going to a doctor.
This thread is specifically meant only for consultations and not for any name calling. If you want to start your grouses against doctors, by all means go ahead and start a new thread. But do not corrupt this thread.

You seriously expected advice in this thread after calling a fellow professional "retard".

1.) Approximate Cost
2.) Approximate Recovery Time (for regular activities and to return to work (he's to start his first job in a couple of months))
3.) Any precautions to be taken before/after the procedure
4.) Any questions to be asked to the surgeon

My family is waiting for me to return to India (sometime in next 2-3 months) before letting him take up the repair surgery. The location of treatment would be either Mumbai or Jalandhar (Punjab). Any inputs/suggestions are appreciated.
infotech i can give you a idea of cost involved in jalandhar but it will also depend on the procedure you want to go for and the hospital

there are two type of surgeries
1 open hernia repair with a mesh

it is the traditional method can be done on all type of hernias.approximate cost about 15000-18000 in average hospitals corporates cost more. light work resumes after 10 days and heavy work in 1month approx.

2 laparoscopic repair with mesh

it cannot be done for large and obstructed hernias. cost approx 25000-30000 in average hospital more in corporate .rest and post operative pain is less in this.but the surgeon should be comfortable with this procedure.

you can pm me any particular query of yours

I don't see anything unethical about it.
The doctor is giving you a bundling discount. He is giving you a discount on the checkup if you also buy the spectacles from him. This would be unethical only if he didn't inform you in advance about it - i.e. that his charges would be more if you didn't buy the specs from him.

In the first week of May, I met with a motorcycle accident. Landed hard on the road at around 70+ kmph speeds.

My knees took a hit and I lost some skin. No swelling or anything. In fact I only had to limp till the skin grew back. Which took less than a week.

Anyways now I get some discomfort when I kneel down. If I remain seated for a long period of time, then my knee feels painful when I put back my weight on it. I have no issues playing sports etc.
The pain is only for a brief moment as soon as I put my weight after being seated for sometime. We crack our knuckles right. The feeling is sort of like I need to crack my knee or something. I am not able to describe this correctly in English.

Also kneeling down and putting my weight on my knee is doable but uncomfortable.
Will this pain go away on its own.

I am worried because Ramzan starts in less than 12 days. And that will include atleast 1 hour of continuous Namaz.

Please help.

I am getting

Hope your knee is better now. Looks like a ligament injury. Hot wet fomentation should help to relieve the feeling of tightness.

Your best option is not to choose an oncologist per se, but a good oncology centre - and Tata Memorial Hospital is rated to be one of the best, if not THE best, in the country.

SS-Traveller - do ligament injuries heal on their own with rest or is some other treatment required typically? And what are the healing periods?
