Did you ride your bike in heavy traffic without a face shield?
Asking because doing that triggers a similar reacting in me. So I actually wear something that covers my nose and mouth.

Disclaimer: I am NOT a doctor.
Gargled twice in the morning. In office now, so doubt it would be possible anymore. Same goes for the inhaling.

I realise now that a leave was in order. Feeling properly feverish now and my voice has turned croaky.

About the bike, it happens to me too! But if I am going to drive through traffic, I always go in for a wet bandanna tied around the face. Also my helmet's visor is always down. I doubt it is because of the bike, haven't ridden for 2 days (took a cab to office).

During the recovery period, they need physical rehabilitation (by a physiotherapist) for faster recovery. Time is a big factor in these cases. Never loose your faith.
thanks for the sugguestion. here the doctor has diagnosed and the reason is high blood pressure. treated him for that and said the recovery is very slow. now exercises are being done and he is gradually recovering albeit very slowly.

1. drink hot water ( sip it frequently like tea. . dont drink all water at once. take sip at every 5 min interval)
2. take septilin syrup twice daily after food.
3.Gargle with Betadine mouth gargle twice daily will also help

Best way to control sore throat start with hot water sips immediately once you begin to feel it

Do you have cough? any sputum? / only sore throat ?
Fever? how much ?
Swallowing difficulty ?

Yes to first row - Upper resp tract infection
" sec - Infection set in
" Third - Tonsillitis

All three... You need to start yourself on antibiotics. Consult a doctor for clinical examination before starting on any drugs. Earlier you visit the doctor for any problem better it is and easier the cure.

Hey

The update is that it is viral. I have been put on Cefpodoxime 200mg BD. Apart from this, I am taking Paracetamol (Flexon) and Alerid-D.
Feeling full on effects: blocked head, feverish and general tiredness.
The doc advised me rest. Despite taking a leave, I haven't been able to do much of that today.
Can I go to office tomorrow? Or should I take this seriously and take another day off?

Why would someone prescribe an antibiotic for treating a virus?

Don't ask me, I am not the doc!

I guess it is some sort of a throat infection or something. The 'viral' thingy was my own shot.

Obviously the doc is suspecting URTI..thus putting you on 3rd gen cephalosporin (a good antibiotic with broad coverage) besides prescribing an anti allergic and pct.

if you don't have fever in the morning you can definitely go to office, just incase you have an irritating dry cough, take a cough syrup like deletus-d or something

What are the chances of Amobea still plying in my intestine ?

My case history.

Around 15th of July I was having an upset stomach and some lose motion. On 17th July I had vomit and lose motion.
Given a dose of 20 Ofox TZ. Things were relatively OK for this time period.
After that dose was complete, I was given a dose of 60 Kutaj Ghanvati ( an ayurvedic tablet ), out of which I took 33 tablets.

Later on, I was given dose of Dependal-M tablets. I consumed 5 Dependal M tablets. Now I am visiting another doctor who told me that I had an overdose of anti-Biotic medicines. So now there is need to restructure my digestive system's digestive abilities.
He gave me some medicine in a very small plastic bag and it worked. I was feeling much better and the heaviness in stomach I felt was gone. Today the same doctor told me that if in one week I am not able to get back to normal health, I will have to under go some tests.

I have lost 8-10 kgs in last one and half month.

1) What are chances that I will end up in surgery ?
2) Chances of serious diseases ?
3) Counter attack by Amobea ? I was told by one of the doctors that I am having Chronic Amobiasis.
4) Repeat attack and getting back to Chronic Ameobaisis ?

speaking of amoeba and anti-biotics, I have heard that doctors now prescribe probiotics after a course of antibiotics to bring the good bacteria in our body to a healthy level. else our digestive system doesn't work well.

is curd still considered good to fight amoeba?

Any RETINA Specialist here ?

I underwent a surgery for retinal detachment 2 months ago (right eye) & a laser surgery in both the eyes to prevent any more tears. This all at the age of 19 & its not common at this age. I have myopia since 5th std & the cylindrical number had been constant at -2.5 in both eyes since last two years.

Post the scleral buckling surgery in the right eye the no has shot up to -5 .

The vision recovery has been really good post surgery, its as powerful as the left eye but with normal floater, cloud like floaters, flashes & star bursts,Straight lines appearing slight curved (when looking with one eyes) Anytime i have any of these i really get depressed.

Dr says retina is stable as of now but there is a possibility of it detaching again because it had detached ones without any reason.

I have been prescribe some multivitamin tablets named i-site & Ketoflox eye drops.

Have been told not to bend forward & lift weights,no weightlifting in gym & no jumping as the only precautions.

Do i need to take any more precautions ? Any tips to keep the retina healthy ? Or a permanent solution to this retina thing ?

Even if i Google About it all i get to read is peoples retina detaching again within 15 days,1 month,1 year, etc & few of them even turning blind. I am seriously seriously depressed all the time just because of this.

another question for eye doctors looking at this thread.
For the last 2 days, I have suddenly got some kind of light sensitivity (photophobia) in both my eyes. I have been sleeping well enough, but my eyes just felt very tired and sensitive day 1 and then day 2, I realized they were not tired/sensitive but just photo sensitive. When i reached back home, and shut down all the lights it was all gone.
Any ideas on what might cause this (could it happen cos i forgot to turn off tv all night which faces my bed) - should I wait for it to just go away or visit an eye doc asap?

Dental problem

Recently while climbing a staircase i fell forward on the steps and one of my front teeth on the upper jaw(the teeth right in front, beside the canines-don't know whats that called) took a slight beating. It did pain me a little for 2 days and then the pain subsided.I consulted our general physician in my office and he said as there's no pain there's nothing to worry. Moreover the tooth did not break nor did develop any crack. He tapped that tooth with a small hand held metal rod and said the tooth is all fine. But after a week or so the colour of the tooth changed. That tooth acquired a slight blackish tinge and is visible only when carefully seen.
I am worried as to what is happening inside.Did any of the blood vessels in the tooth get cut ?(I don't know much dentistry).Hope the tooth is fine.
Please guide me.
Ofcourse a visit to the dentist is due this weekend

A colour change after trauma is a definite sign that the little blood vessels entering the tooth from its root tip have been irreversibly damaged, leading to death of the pulp inside the tooth - in other words, the tooth has become non-vital. Please see your dentist ASAP; the usual management is by root canal treatment, probably followed by a crown placed on the tooth. The longer you delay, the darker the tooth will become.

I need to consult a Neurosurgeon or someone who can deal with migraine headaches in Bangalore/Hyderabad.

I am suffering from very frequent and irritating headaches which last long and drain me off. I consulted a doc by name Mr. Deepak Sharan, in bangalore ( he is an Ortho surgeon) who diagnosed my condition as "fibromyalgia" which is some sort of a pain related syndrome.

I have persistent pain in my neck reaching upto shoulders which causes lot of discomfort & also headaches. Sometimes dizziness & indigestion (sort of gastroenteritis) is also there. When i was a kid aged 3yrs, i was operated on the neck by a neuro, for "Lymphangioma -- Cystic Hygroma", which caused a droop in my right shoulder, which is quite visible & this doesnt allow proper growth in my chest muscles. Doc says, this can be the reason for fibromyalgia/headaches. I also have a liquidy color less discharge in my ears ocassionally, which i am afraid, could be cerebro spinal fluid (it is not often there, but it dries up in the ears, often looking like dandruff stuck on ear walls)

I was prescribed a dose of Pregabalin 150mg, every night & it was getting lousy on me, not able to control sleep in office etc.. so i discontinued the medicine & stopped visiting him as well. Off late, my colleagues say i shall consult a neuro who can understand my condition better. The pregabalin only helped me in a relieved sleep but didnt get me rid off the headaches.
I am still not sure what is the problem & the solution to look for. Any help in this regard is greatly appreciated
