Do you often watch movies that late ?

From what you have said, it looks the first time. The adjustment to different lighting is called adaptation. which did not happen. Could be due to lack of sleep / tired eyes ? In case it happens again, then you could get your eyes checked.

Was home alone after a really long time. Was too bored to sleep and hence ended up channel hopping and movie watching.

Also ended up with the worst ever episode(first time again) of acidity.

I am feeling so domesticated right now.

I was actually getting worried when this did not subside for almost 30 minutes.

Have you ever had migraine? It can cause some very worrying (until you know what it is) visual effects, even psychedelic ones, and stomach problems too.

How I got it as a teenager: I would slowly go almost blind (very, very scary the first time, and dangerous too) with pinhole vision, or a field of vision with bits missing. There would be jagged colour lines in my vision. This would pass on to a blinding headache, then stomach ache, and after vomiting, I'd be fine. Time cycle, six to eight hours. Perfect to ruin parent's planned day out.

How I get it now: I get coloured jagged lines in my vision. It peaks in about thirty minutes and that's it. I can't read, or use the PC, and I wouldn't drive. Otherwise, I find ignoring it the best policy.

Many migraine sufferers have triggers. My current theory about mine is insufficient fluid intake. Someone I know, after diarying everything she ate and drank, found that the combination of chocolate and orange was hers. It's almost too odd to be true, but it is!

Its marketing gimmick. Dont fall for such things.RCT was performed in a certain way, termed as traditional technique, since past 5-6 years a 'single-cone' technique is used for the same. Both are equally effective.

My mother-in-law has rheumatoid arthritis (RA). She suffers from severe knee pain. Knee replacement seems to be the only solution. Meanwhile i came across SPMF Therapy dispensed by SBF Healthcare (http://www.sbfhealthcare.com). Seems to be less expensive and non-invasive.

Any one has 1st hand experience with this treatment for arthritis/RA? Can we go for this?

The only real treatment for advanced RA is joint replacement. No medical management exists that can reverse bony deformity and associated soft tissue damage. A lot of stuff is marketed in the media but it is all bunkum.

Almost 18 years back I had my blood pressure shoot up to over a 180-140 or something like that. All I remember was that it was crazy high and they got me admitted to a hospital.

No medication was administered but I was kept under observation. The next day morning I was completely normal. They put me thru a battery of tests and they all came back clean.

Never has my blood pressure shot up like that and my doctors just called it as a freak thing for a teenager. Something like hormones gone crazy or something.

One of the doctors did mention that it might have been a migraine attack. That was the only time anything like this was mentioned for me.

My 5 year old son has been having dry cough for the last one month. We have approached a paediatrician and an ENT doctor separately. Both say it's small granules in the throat due to cold weather. He's taking Montair LC Kid. However there is no sign of the cough subsiding. Sometimes he cough for long stretches, @ about two- three coughs a minute. What else can I do?

Get a chest x ray and blood tests for monocyte count which could indicate allergy. You may also consider deworming him since roundworms may cause cough too.

Does anybody know of a surgeon/specialist who treats chest deformities, like pectus excavatum or carinatum. Anywhere in the country.

Thanks superlux for the response. The paediatrician prescribed Corex, Advent Forte and Levolin today and told us to get back to him in two days time. Will keep your advise in mind.

re: Calling doctors/dentists/specialists on Team-BHP to provide free consultations

Hi all,

I'm looking for a good dentist in bangalore. My mom needs to get a crown done.

Any suggestions from personal experience? Location doesnt really matter as long as the person is really worth visiting.

Thanks!

My 3.5yr old boy had a fall and hit his two teeth on right side upper jaw (Central and Lateral incisors?).
They've gone in a bit and move then pulled. One of the tooth is developing a discoloration.

One dentist suggested root canal, another suggested extraction.

Visiting a well known pediatric dentist today.

What should be the ideal course of treatment? Please advise.
