Sagar,

I ain't a doctor, but as they say an experienced patient can come close . Just kidding!. I had the same problem and suffered for a year with it. Initially I thought it was due to poor quality worn out floaters that I was using and tried changing my footwear. I also bought these Scholl insoles from Bata and tried them out. Nothing helped. Mind you all this was self medication. Stupid me!

Finally, gave up and went to the foot clinic @ Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain Hospital, Vasantnagar (they primarily cater to the diabetic foot care).
Dr. Vinaya who is a podiatrist there recommended that I try special footwear with arch support. I got two such pairs (home & away) and got the same arch support for my shoe which I use for my work. They advised continuous use footwear through the day (even right out of bed in the morning). They also told me not expect any improvement before 3-4 months.

It took a long time to heal. May be 5 months. But now, I do not have that problem any more. I continue to use the footwear to date. However, I use them only when I get out of home and not indoors.

Hope this helps. If you require any further info, PM me.

PS: I am not associated with Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain Hospital in any way other than as a happy patient!

My mother is diagnosed with meningioma (4 cm X 4.3 cm x 4.5 cm ) requiring surgery.
Are there any alternate ways to treat this ?

I guess the above thread would be a better help to you.
As far as Allopathy goes, she requires surgery.

Spine/Ortho centres in North West India

Guys,

My mother in law has severe back pain which is not subsiding in-spite of several things that were tried for the past one month which included:

1. Rest. ( In fact rest makes it worse )
2. Massage.
3. Cold/heat application.
4. Application of off the shelf topical pain relievers: ( e.g. Volini/Iodex/Moov etc )
5. Visit to a general physician.

( My prognosis based on extensive Googling of the symptoms: Facet Joint Osteoarthritis )

So now it is obvious that she needs specialist treatment.
Hence guys request you to send the best ortho/spine centers in Punjab/Himachal/Haryana ( Uptil Ambala only )

TIA,
JediKnight

Where are you from? Amandeep hospital is good in Amritsar.

First I would advise you to visit a reputed orthopaedic surgeon locally for diagnosis.

Thanks. My Mom in law is right now based in Nangal (Punjab ).
There is nothing good nearby.

I guess orho/spine treatments would require multiple visits ?

No, meningioma can only be treated with surgery.
It has got good prognosis after resection..

People from Nangal mostly visit PGI for advanced care. But first visit an experienced orthopaedic surgeon nearest to you for diagnosis. Identify the problem first.

My sister (cousin) in her early forties has started getting dark patches on her face (cheeks and forehead). It sort of looks like this - http://blog.pharmacymix.com/wp-conte...11/melasma.jpg but not as dark.

She had visited her doctor for some other ailment & at that time asked the doctor to take a look at this. The doctor wasn't much interested & asked her to use a cream called Melalite (Hydroquinone, Oxybenzone, Octinoxate). She used a full tube of this but it had no effect.

Then based on what a friend recommended, she tried another cream called Melamet (Hydroquinone, Tretinoin and Mometasone). This was like magic and within a week or so the dark patches disappeared. However, when she stopped using it (after a 15 g tube was over), the patches started coming back slowly. So she has started it again.

So what is the solution for this - does she has to use this cream for a lifetime or are there any other alternatives. Are these creams safe for longtime use?

Also, she doesn't have any pain or any other issues in the dark area. Just that it looks really bad.
Any doctors/skin doctors have any opinion about this?

re: Calling doctors/dentists/specialists on Team-BHP to provide free consultations

My 2 year kid has a fracture on her left elbow. She was operated on for insertion of 2 wires to keep the joint straight by a Doctore( whom I now doubt ) in Yashomati Hospitals near Marahtalli.

The hospital is worst I have ever seen. For such a minor plaster I was charged 50K, yes 50 thousand rupees. I am really pissed. The Doctor came 4 hours late for only one visit. They charged us a luxury charge without even attending properly. All in all a very greedy bunch of retards running that Hospital.

So, thing is. I went for mid way consultation to same doctor and he advised for plaster removal on 20th of this month. He dropped a bomb when he said that the baby has to be admitted to hospital again for 24 hours for removal of plaster. This means another 40-50K expense. I feel stupid going to that Doctor. For a simple procedure which can be done with local anesthesia, he wants a full fledged blown up Operation Theatre visit. Why?

Ending up spending 1 Lakh for a fracture is blowing my wits out. I hate such money mongering business in the guise of Medical Care.

So, here is my question.
Does anyone know a Doctor, who can perform this plaster removal + wire removal procedure on my kid safely without looting me to death with unnecessary procedures.

Thanks,

Gem Hospital in coimbatore is very famous gastrointestinal speciality centre. Dr.Palanivelu is a world renowned keyhole surgeon. You should be surprised to know that he is a visiting professor to many American universities. Medical gasto is also consulted in this hospital. Am a doctor and we ourselves refer patients with diseases related to colon to him.

Isn't Yashomati a new hospital? Whatever you do, don't go to Vims as well.

I assume you are near Marathalli. Why don't you go to Manipal or St Johns? Both are good hospitals with good doctors and I am sure you'd wouldn't end up paying anything close to 50k in either of these places.

Please do not use any creams/ointments that require a prescription without consulting a specialist. its a very bad idea to apply steroid containing creams on the face without prescription.consult a dermatologist ASAP.
