re: Calling doctors/dentists/specialists on Team-BHP to provide free consultations

@Gannu, looks like there is some good doctors who care about patients more than business.Like many, I am petrified to visit a dentist. But now it seems its time to face my fears.

I need some advice from fellow members since I am new to Navi Mumbai / Vashi.
A year back a filling of mine fell out and due to some constraints I did not visit dentist at that time. Now my gums around that area have started paining, and I guess an RC might be in order. Can you guys in an around this area please recommend a dentist please?

re: Calling doctors/dentists/specialists on Team-BHP to provide free consultations

I need to get my eyes tested. No problems as such, but they are red most of the times off late. I do spend a lot of time in front of my laptop. The power I have had since the last 10 years is -.50 in both the eyes. I do wear a specs as without it, I get a headache in front of the laptop. What are the general tests that can be done for a complete eye check up? Inputs appreciated. Thanks!!

If you are in Vashi, you could try the Fortis Hiranandani Hospital. The doctors there are very good. Am not sure about independent dentists.

Unless you get a good referral, I would not suggest that you go to any of the independent doctors as I have had a very bad and life scarring experience in Navi Mumbai.

Can you please let know where did you have the bad experience. I am sure, sharing such a thing in forum would do lot of good for the forum members as well as for general public.

Please suggest an over the counter Topical anti inflammatory cream available in India. Looking for a common name or brand.

A friend visiting from the US wanted one and we were met with blank stares at the couple of small medical shops. Thought of asking here before visiting a doc.

Would love to; but having experienced it more than 5 years back, am unable to recollect the name of the hospitals and the doctor.

However, I can say that it was in Kharghar and the doctors involved was a Lady practising Gynaecology and a Radiologist. Wrong diagnosis and scans in the first and second trimester led to my son being diagnosed with a congenital defect in the third trimester in N Delhi. I was told that the conditions that my son had could have been diagnosed in the second if not the first scan itself and the child could have either been treated in in womb or aborted depending on us, which because of the late diagnosis couldn't be done.

I received help from the doctors and radiologists in Fortis Hiranandani after his birth and hence my vouching them.

I think it is for some mild inflammation in a nerve. Like I said, it is for a friend and I don't know the exact issue.

That reminds me... I have never been able to find an antihistamine insect bite cream here. I use Anthisan, from UK, active ingredient mepyramine. One day I'll run out of my stash. I avoid taking internal antihistamine, except on the rare occasions when I have been bitten so much that I itch all over. Caught quickly, a tiny amount of the Anthisan stops the redness, inflammation and itch developing.

We use desonide cream (brand Desowen, i think) for itch, rash etc. Should be a mild one too.

re: Calling doctors/dentists/specialists on Team-BHP to provide free consultations

My MIL has been advised to wear hinged knee support and the guy the doctor asked her to procure it from is quoting 8k for a pair from the brand OPPO. He says this is imported and of better quality than what is found in India. I some how refuse to believe his theory and moreover he is not offering any discount on the price and needs cash only.
A little search on the internet got me to this, http://www.healthkart.com/sv/tynor-n...Key=VRNT-24887
I have used a wrist support from this brand and it was of good quality. If anyone has any experience with this or any other brand which is better but of reasonable cost, requesting your inputs.

re: Calling doctors/dentists/specialists on Team-BHP to provide free consultations

I am suffering from Eyes dryness since i was young, the reason being given by Eye experts is my eyeball thickness is less than normal which is around 550 and mine is only aroudn 480 which causes extreme itching.

I used to itch them constantly resulting to Keratoconus now and i am prescribed cylindrical lenses.

Problem i faced recently was the formation of Lipid ring in my right eye, i checked my Lipid profile and they are with in limits LDL was 110. Is this a cosmetic issue where in an eye drops can fade the ring or is it more than that. Pl help me in this case.

Thanks both. The Anthical looks to be just what I wanted. Will check it out with our medicine-shop man.
