Do you feel the pain is radiating from the buttocks to the thighs? Any point that hurts towards the lower part if your backbone?

Visiting an Orthopedician specialising in Spine would be a good idea.

Instead of Amla Juice from Patanjali, i would say make your own Amla juice at home and drink fresh.

It will be a bit more time consuming - but worth it. Remember Amla does not just contain Vitamin C but antioxidents as well.

Why i suggest you stay away from Packaged Amla juice is that most juices (including Patanjali) contain Sodium Benzoate as preservative.

Whereas it has been shown that Sodium Benzoate and Vitamin C produces a chemical that is potentially carcigenic.

Hence better to stay away from packaged juices, spceially those rich in Vit C.

Need some urgent help for a friend of mine.

Do you know anything or can refer me to somebody who knows about application of stem therapy for optic nerve atrophy ?

A close friends cousin has lost his eye sight due to damage to her optic nerve. She also lost her hearing a few weeks back.

Anyone who can help with or refer to some stem cell therapy experts ?

I'm still an MBBS student though my father is an Eye surgeon so i can give some opinion.

Since the patient has multiple nerve damage(looks like that from the symptoms), it could be a specific syndrome or even a heritable disease. I would suggest to first make a complete diagnosis since just going to fix one symptom may not be helpful in the long term if some other possible complication is missed.

Coming to stem cell therapy for the optic atrophy, it is one of the hottest areas of research but nothing concrete has come out yet. If the hearing loss is due to the nerve damage, it may be possible to repair it with an implant(depending on where the lesion is).

But in case of the retina and optic nerve, no realistic treatment is available. You could possibly search for some clinical trials, but even those are likely to be abroad. The situation carries poor prognosis I'm afraid.

Hi Doctors, especially from Chandigarh/Punjab/Himachal region. Where can you find a good private maternity hospital around Nangal Punjab. I would especially interested in a high quality ( cost no issue ) hospital that can handle all maternity related stuff like scans and consultations right up to childbirth.

Need some suggestions regarding 'chiropractor' for my niggling back pain. I have tried all possible methods, but the problem has never really gone away. Please let me know if this is worth giving a try.

Re: Calling doctors/dentists/specialists on Team-BHP to provide free consultations

Hi,

Please suggest a good dentist in navi mumbai area (near vashi). I think a cavity is coming up in one of the molars. Showed it to a doctor almost an year back who suggested to get it filled. Additionally the silver filling(in another teeth) I got done almost 15 years back will also need to be changed(don't know what it's called). I really don't want to go the dentist I referred to last year . My relative had a bad experience there & hence asking for recommendations for good one in/near vashi.

As far as my experience goes, sensitivity cannot be controlled by Local Anaesthesia.

A visit to a dentist shouldn't be accompanied with phobia, if you trust your dentist, that goes a long way in making your appointment much pleasant.

Good luck!

Hi Dr. Aniketh,

You will find my request pretty unusual but I have to.

My case is a little different, having experienced trauma in my life, I am trying to find a dentist who can handle my case albeit with more understanding & patience.

I thought why shouldn't I consult a fellow team bhpian rather than completely unknown doctor.

But I don't know how to contact you directly. So had to quote you.

Is it possible for you to drop me a private message.

Thanks in advance!

Derma help!

My mom has some skin issues [rashes & maybe eczema]. Along with tablets
# Isotretinonin [tretiva-20] and # levocitrzine dihydrochloride IP-5 she has been advised to use two ointments.
# mometasone furoate cream ip .1 w/w and
# tacrolimus ointment .1 w/w

Which one to use for rashes and which for eczema type of symptoms? Dermatologist has advised to use both ointments for both alternatively [use one at morning at both places & the other at night and the one meant for morning to be used at mornings only]

Now, she was complaining of burning sensation when using tacrolimus on the rashes part. But is ok with the other cream used on both those parts. Any help here?

They say that, when buying shoes, one should walk to the shop on a hot day!

So how does this work for eyes? I find my vision changes quite a lot, so should I go for an eye test with rested eyes? Or when they have been working, eg reading forums posts for several hours.

I currently need to get new glasses for both reading and computer-screen use.

A little late, but a future reference for others.

My recommended Dentist in Ramamurthy Nagar, JP dental Clinic. Location

Address: Gurumurthy Reddy Layout, Dooravani Nagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560016

Tip: The clinic is run by a couple, I prefer Dr Vineeth.
During my teeth cleaning sessions, I felt he was milder and easy on the gums. So, do opt for him for a painless experience.

The clinic is on a dead-end road, parking and maneuvering a 4 wheeler can be tricky at times.

Do you know anyone who has undergone a shunt surgery in the brain to treat hydrocephalus. I would like to know about the post-op care, recovery period and the effectiveness of this procedure. Thanks in advance.
