My 2 cents please
Invest regularly in FD in your wife's ( in case of House wife) and kids names and furnish form 15G/15H . It will save you tax.
Make sure they all have a PAN number . In case taxed by bank , fill IT online and if there is no other income in their name , the refund will be in your bank in one month.
