There is a multilevel car parking next to the Shivaji Stadium metro station.

Doesnt it have that swanky multi storey parking?
If not, across the road, in front of he emporium type shops, next to the coffee house(In case that has also not been routed yet), you ought to be able to get a spot.

Re: NCR Traffic & Delhi Metro Thread

Not sure if this is the right thread for my query but couldn't find any other relevant topic.

I am planning to travel to HP from Delhi this Friday and taking a self drive rental. There are two pick-up point options to choose from: Pitampura and Airport.

Now, I checked the metro route and it is showing around 1.15 hours to reach PitamPura from airport. Google is showing 1 hour by road. Will be traveling around 10am from the airport.

I am guessing that if I need to change the vehicle from rental agency then airport might be a better option as they might have more cars in stock there. However, if it is going to take more than 2 hours to drive from airport to Pitampura then thinking of taking metro.

What would a better option to go for? Is the estimate travel time of 1 hour by road is realistic at that time of the day? I will be just carrying a small bag so no luggage issue.

Please advice.

Re: NCR Traffic & Delhi Metro Thread

Friday morning traffic will be towards Airport/Gurugram rather than the other way around. Airport - North Delhi stretch will be relatively empty. Should you wish to, you can take Airport - Cantt - Janak Puri - Peera Garhi - Pitampura Route. This route has minimal signals and there is a huge over pass/flyover from Janakpuri to Mukarba Chowk that is completely signal free.

Alternatively, You may safely pick the car from Airport itself and be on your merry way rather than going to pitampura by Metro/Uber and then picking up the car.

Call the rental agency and ensure that they have the vehicle in stock and parked at the airport.

Thanks for useful info, Manoj. Will take the suggested route.

Have opted for airport pick-up point and spoke with the rental agency to ensure the car is there on time.

Re: NCR Traffic & Delhi Metro Thread

Underpass construction by CPWD at Mahipalpur has added chaos to the already messed up NH 8.

DTP says that this will continue till March 2019.

What is happening? It's intriguing how that huge bump changes shape every few days.
Traffic while going towards Delhi is very bad, but while coming back is pretty normal.
Time taken from Ambience mall to RTR is easily 1 hour.

Re: NCR Traffic & Delhi Metro Thread

There is an underpass being constructed, connecting the airport with Vasant Kunj. The bump is bang on the curve and the service lane is also dug up on the side going to dhaula Kuan, resulting in kilometres long jam
