M F Hussain once upon a time use to paint movie hoardings , inspite of being one of the senior most painters of india , he is nearly living in exile out of this country . Wonder what inspired him to buy such an expensive car ?

He probably will paint a picture of Madhuri or his current muse on the Veyron.
OT there is a dhaba in kolkata where he has actually painted a mural on one of the walls during one of his visits. Kolkatans would know it as Azad hind..

Talk about money in painting
It is white and Black Dippy. Sorry i left the paper in the office, so the scan would take time. He paid 7.34 crores for the car and that amount is just a few lakhs less than the last painting (7.84 crores) of his that was auctioned. The car has been termed by Mr Hussain as a peice of art and that is why he bought it. It also has something to do with his next project for which he would ask A.R.Rehman to do the background score off. I would say young at 93, and the oldest customer of the Veyron. They also mentioned that there are only three Veyrons sold in U.A.E. and one of them is this one.

Also note that you will need long white dishevelled hair and will need to roam around in kurta, pyjamas and chappals everywhere.

His current muse is Amrita Rao.

We should have paid more attention in the drawing period in school isnt it? Miss Rosy and Maria would have been so proud of us

Not surprising. Hussain has been an internationally acclaimed artist for over half a century now. That movie-hoarding thing is anecdotal at best. He has been exhibiting his paintings across the world since the 50s and the 60s. In addition to his personal wealth, he has a number of wealthy patrons. A whole house in Hyderabad, on the very expensive Road No 12 in Banjara Hills, was gifted to him to use as a gallery of sorts in 1999 or 2000.

He has atleast 3 that I know of. If I'm not mistaken, Sam is friends with one of them.

Good idea Rush but Madhuri is stale, as Dippy mentioned Amrita Rao after Amrita its Katrina. May be you can paint Katrina before he does and atleast buy a 911.

Dippy I took elementary drawing classes after school hours and after endless tries Miss Maria declared that this boy will never paint. But looking at Maqbool Fida Hussain's paintings im thinking - How hard can it be?

WOW!! I think I'll start doing digital paintings and then selling them off on internet itself.
Atleast by doing this I may be able to earn something enough for me to maintain my car.

By the way why do people pay crores of Rupees for a painting that is most of the times understood only by the painter?
