Pioneer confirms that it's leaving the TV business

It leaves only Panasonic, LG and Samsung for plasma TVs.

Read this link. DisplaySearch is considered one of the best electronics consultancy. Of course, this was before the recent Pioneer decision. You can also get some very `close to reality' insights on this site:

DisplaySearch Revises Worldwide TV Forecasts; LCD TV Revenue Expected to Fall Y/Y for the First Time in LCD TV History - DisplaySearch

It is also reported that Pioneer now plans to focus resources on its car navigation systems and other auto electronics products. No mention of flat TVs.
As for me, I am quite happy with my Pioneer. However, for the future, I may have to buy Panasonic (quite good). Sad that a `pioneer' and great plasma TV is exiting. Perhaps there knowledge (manpower) will be acquiredby the last company standing. That may be good for us.
