agree:. Getting admissions in small towns are comparatively easier. I grew up in a small town and I suspect my school provided better education/values than any of these so-called international standard ones in Bangalore.

Biggest worry is what kind of value system the school eco-system would inculcate on the kid. Parents do matter, but the kid ends up spending 8 hours on an average in the school. Hence, schools also matter. Probably growing up is much easier is smaller towns.

I guess getting school admission is just the starting point of a long struggle of helping your kid become what he is in spite of external factors. "I can't change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination."
