And as you guys said, Hachiko did leave me in tears. To those who haven't seen, it's a emotional and heartwarming story about the loyalty of a dog.

Will rate it a 5/5.

Catch Me If You Can: Starring Tom Hanks, DiCaprio and directed by Spielberg. A nice slick movie about a con-man who cons to live. He makes fraud checks, becomes an airline pilot, a doctor and a lawyer as the police is constantly on his tail. Will rate it a 4/5.

Yup!! my wife noticed it. No Extradition!! remember ?
I was too busy drooling at the alloy wheels and Connor's car.
The opening scene where Connor takes out the bus to free Dom, was awesome.
Oh!! and the armoured car of Hobbs jumping on the roads of Rio was delightful to watch.
And not to forget , the buggy for the train heist had way too much offroading capabilities and even that scene sent the pulse racing.
Awesome stuff overall.

When the beach in fast five was shown i knew it was goa. Got confirmed once the number plates were shown.

This was from the line on the train "Moscow, Tokyo and Goa, No extradition". Other than goa the remaining does not have this beach

I would rate this movie 2/5. It is an average movie with nothing good about it. Story can be guessed by looking at its trailer. I have never liked Natalie Portman as an actor( I probably developed this bias after watching BLACK SWAN). Ashton Kutcher was his usual. I did not find any good comedy in this movie. The ending of the movie is also predictable. There are better movies to watch than this. So watch this only if you have nothing else to watch.

Please stay away from this movie! you can kill the time by just sitting idle than watching this movie.

re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

This weekend it was time for a trip to Asgard - and watch Thor in action - that too in IMAX 3D.
I found the film cheesy at a couple of places where some seriousness would have worked better. Also -for the occasional moviegoer, I suggest not to watch this film if you don't know anything about Norse mythology, or if you do not follow the marvel comics' Thor (if yo want to understand everything that is). Superb special effects and quite a few humorous one liners makes this movie an entertaining one. 3.5/5 from me.

You did not like any of them? That is surprising. For me the 1st and the 3rd are the most awesome ones. 2nd and 4th one are below average. Waiting to see the 5th one.

re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

Hachiko: An American movie based on a true story about a dog's devotion for his master.
There isn't much of story, but the good thing is that it that the film is without violence and computer generated graphics. So what we get to see is a simple and honest narrative. This also means that there are no super hero like tricks performed by the dog and this sets the film apart from the usual entertainment films involving pets. The cinematography is excellent and creates a perfect ambience. The story, though touchy, is filmed in a documentary style, reducing the emotional impact.

re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

Watched Fast Five over the weekend.

This is a typical Hollywood Masala movie. The movie doesnt disappoint on what one would expect from this series. Yes there are scene which are over the top, which are illogical but what the heck the stunts make it all worth while.

Dwayne Johnson can be seen in a good action role after a long time & boy the fight between Vin & the Rock was awesome.

Btw I liked almost all movies of this series, may be with varying degrees but still

Rating : 4/5

Btw this summer looks a lot exciting with some great movies lined up -

- Cars 2
- Kung Fu Panda 2
- Hangover 2
- Pirates of the Caribbean 4
- Thor
- Transformers 3
- The Green Lantern
- X-files - First Class
- Captain America
- Cowboy & Aliens

& more

After a couple of weeks break. Saw " Murder at Presidio" starring Lou Diamond Phillips

It's an decent thriller and also a true story of a muder of a sargent at the army base. LDP is from the CID and investigates this murder on the sly.

Good acting by LDP and rest of the cast sucked. Good timepass movie

2.5/5

re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

Fast 5: Everything was good about the movie including the "inspired from bollywood" type fist fights. The opening scene, the train sequence, the cars are all drool and it was totally the worth the money spent. best was the comic timing and the one liners from the cast. The Rock looks good except for that stupid beard he was sporting. Did not look good on him. The plot was well worked out and totally enjoyed the whole movie.

4/5
.

Unthinkable: Predictable at times and interesting at others. On the whole a so-so movie. Samuel L Jackson is wasted in this role though he has done justice by proving the actor that he is. Brandon Routh also stars in the movie but only as a side kick. Story is about a terrorist bomber who gets himself caught after placing 3 nuclear bombs in different cities. The rest is how the FBI get him to reveal the locations. The movie is gory with lots of torture. In fact the full movie barring the starting few minutes is the torture of the captured terrorist.

2/5
