North Country - 4/5 stars. Found this gem through Tata Sky (&Prive, MN+, Sony Le Plex & Star Select do the best curation on TV).

Inspired by a true story of sexual harassment of women mine workers. Lots of stars who went on to become bigger names, and excellent performances:

I remember watching this years back. Absolutely gut wrenching it was.

I quite enjoyed the movie, that i like his music also helped. Worth a one time watch, for sure.
Love the movie. It is based on Eminem's life and shot in Detroit. I do drive by the movie locations once in a while

The theatre bulding turned parking lot, where the rap battles happen feels enchanting

Are there any street fighter movies with Akuma as a character, apart from assassins fist?

Avengers: Infinity War

Very, very rarely has a movie held me captivated so much that I have watched it with my jaw on the floor almost throughout it's length. Completely blown & speechless.
Right from the opening sequence which cuts right to the chase with Thanos and how he toys with the four most powerful characters in the Avengers universe, to the last scenes after the huge battles are over, it is one fantastic ride which no one should miss.
A solid 10 from me.
Going back to watch it 10 more times in the coming days just to let the whole experience sink in fully.

Gifted: Rating this flick a full 5 / 5 stars. An extraordinary movie about an extraordinarily talented kid (she's a math genius). Family friendly - watch it over a weekend and Mckenna Grace will leave you smiling, but it has emotional moments too.

Just saw your posts. If you liked 8 mile, add these two to your watchlist:

1. Straight Outta Compton (5 / 5 stars)

2. Get Rich or Die Tryin' (3 / 5 stars)

I am not a regular movie goer but want to watch the Infinity War with my 6-year-old Kid. When I tried to book the ticket in Book My Show, it was showing that the movie is for 18+ only, so my question is - is this a standard warning, or will they not let my kid in to watch the movie?

Out here i guess it's a standard warning. I saw parents bring kids to watch Deadpool!!!

Please be advised that movie has ample amounts of deaths and violence and it is not your usual Marvel movie fare. It is rated PG 13.

I took my Kid who is 12. I think they would allow to watch if accompanied by Adult ? I saw much younger kids watching it too. I dont think you will have a problem

Coming to the movies, its really good. Every frame is full of magic effects and the dialogues between the characters are witty. Loved the music that adds to the mood perfectly.

Coming to the audience in Rex, they were shouting and whistling when every character was introduced. Not used to watching in this part of the city for a long time. Dont remember people doing that for english movies

Re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

I watched A Quiet Place yesterday and it was a fantastic watch. The soundtrack for the film is the key as there are long passages where there is only silence and natural sounds. Having a well behaved audience is the key to enjoying this film and I was pretty fortunate on that front.

The acting by John Krasinsky and Emily Blunt was top notch. The children put in some fine performances too. While the movie is more of an atmospheric thriller than out-and-out horror, there are some genuinely frightening scenes. I really liked the way they have filmed the creature.

I highly recommend this film and I totally understand why it has received so much critical acclaim.

Absolutely amazing ... darker theme though considering Marvel standards, leaves you with that brooding feeling of whats going to be the future.
Needs to be experienced to understand.

Don't miss the end credit scene!

[4.5 / 5] for me.

Highly recommended for well handled emotional aspect of the story.

Its one of the best to come out in thriller (or horror as its being touted) genre in recent times.
Its all about sound design - keeps you engaged all through.

Re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

Avengers: Infinity War- 3.5/5

Was left a bit underwhelmed at the end of the movie. A few reasons that I can think of:

1. Sky high expectations after the first couple of instalments of the Avengers, as well as Civil War. I expected this to me even more mind-blowing, but that was not the case.
2. Overloaded number of characters, resulting in very brief and unsatisfactory screen time to the main and most loved characters. I was personally hoping for more screen time to Black Panther, but then, it wasn't to be.
3. Too much screen time to Thanos. All in all, its a Thanos movie, rather than Avengers movie. Josh Brolin has done a good job, though (as expected).

Of course its still a fantastic watch. But for me, nothing beats the thrill that I experienced when the Avengers first teamed up in Avengers 1.

The end credits scene is also cool, heralding things to come in the MCU franchise. The juggernaut will roll on!!
