movies i watched

last long weekend(fri-sat-sun) watched the following movies:

Duplicity - Julia Roberts, Clive Owen - a good one time watch. two corporate spies con their respective bosses.
3/5

Public Enemies - Johnny Depp, Christian Bale. its about crime taking place in 1930's and how feds plan against gangsters. a must watch.
4/5

Danny the Dog aka Unleashed - Jet Li, Morgan Freeman. A good action movie with a pinch of human feelings thrown it. this is not an out and out action movie but it does have doses of those. must watch for action fans. 4/5

The Recruit(2003) - Al pacino, Colin Farell. - Based on how CIA gives training to their agents. a good spy action thriller. holds the breath till the end. 'Everything is a Test' helps in deceptive part of the movie. a must watch
3.75/5

Mall Cop - A good time pass movie. 3/5

Next week: Harry Potter and Half blood prince in theatre and night at museum 2 at home

Any reviews on "Shoot'em Up" starring Clive Owen and Monica Bellucci?

Btw, this'll be my first movie starring Monica. Will it be worth it?

The movie is just about decent, a lot of mindless shooting (but of course ) ad Bellucci lookig as gorgeous as usual. However, not much of a role for her. Otherwise a fast movie, but suffers from a lack of storyline.
BTW have you not watched the Matrix trilogy??? part 2 or 3 has Belluccii for a short while.

Shoot 'Em Up (2007)

The bad guy breaks the heroes fingers. Hero does not mind the pain, he still knocks a couple of guys out. Runs and sits down beside a fire place. He tries to shoot. But cannot get it straight as his fingers are broken.

The villain comes over. Some dialogues. The hero sticks his hand into the fire. He has bullets between his fingers. Kills the villain with gunfire.

I loved it.
Unfortunately caught the movie a bit late and missed the beginning.
On the new WB channel.
This is art.

Did I mention how he flies out of a car and lands inside the other car and...
Must watch.

I loved the movie. But Monica has a very short role. She is there all along but the movie belongs to the Hero.

Saw it Tuesday night at PVR Juhu the 11pm show & it was housefull. Folks, be warned, you'll either have a paining jawline or your stomach will hurt. I have not seen a more HOWLarious movie in a very very long time. The bearded guy Alan (his real name is Zach Galifianakis) is the next big thing. Its Rated 'R' so don't expect any clean comedy. Its an awesome watch. Go watch it. And please don't miss the end credits!

5* from me, for sure!
Saw "The Hangover" yesterday. Before going to the movie, I was wondering why there was so much hullabulloo over the film, but after the movie I was literally ROFLMAO.

Certain parts did seem silly, but who cares when you are getting laughs of this kind. Easily the best film of the year!!!!!

5/5 from me

Watched Knowing yesterday
IMDB link
Useless Movie!!! Starts off ok but I din't like the ending.

Synopsis from Imdb
A teacher opens a time capsule that has been dug up at his son's elementary school; in it are some chilling predictions -- some that have already occurred and others that are about to -- that lead him to believe his family plays a role in the events that are about to unfold.

Imdb has given a rating of 6/10 ill give maybe a 4/10!!! I only watched it as it was Nicolas Cage and the rating was 6/10!!!

Watched Harry Potter VI yesterday!!!
I found it OK!!! Actually it was nice but as I had already read the book twice before I felt a little bored!!! Other than that very nicely made up movie!!!

I trust the Tomatometer on rottentomatoes.com. They are stricter with the ratings. The Knowing has T-meter rating of only 32% which is, by their definition, rotten.

Harry potter 6, you can give it a skip. It dissapoints. Many crucial scenes which were in the book got skipped out, with lots of useless drivel added.

+1 to that. Also this thread is great to know about movies you never heard about them. I dig them out from Bigflix and watch 'em

Btw, Rottentomatoes is a bit pessimistic in their reviews, that's my experience.

If you need accurate reviews use scoopy.com. Some of the reviews are plain hilarious. The reviewer is a fan of Roger Ebert and the site is one of the most popular in the websphere.
Check out some of the older reviews from the archive especially the ones with the yellow star.

Warning: The site does contain some adult content. Please refrain from viewing with kids.

Saw this movie last night. By god, it does not even let you settle down, bullets fly even before the initial credits roll in. Attaboy way to go !!!

High adrelin and mostly meaningless action but stylishly made. Quite a few topless scenes splattered across the movie and Monica B was breathtaking.

As someone said, it's an out and out rajnikant type movie ( especially when Cliven Owen deliberately attempts a head on collision but not before removing his seat belt and breaking the windsheild glass so he can leap into the oncoming vehicle and shoot 'em up all in one motion

Summary, a nice action flick if you keep your brains refrigerated

2.5/5
