Saw Men Who Stare at Goats. It was not as funny as i had expected it to be, specially with a star studded cast like George Clooney, Kevin Spacey, Jeff Bridges. Bit of a bore actually.

Many hindi movie has scene/story similar in this movie. Kante, Chocolate.

Kante was somewhat copied from Reservoir Dogs. But the jail scene is definitely copied from this. Also Amitabh refers to The policewala as Mr. Mcquaire, which also happens to be the name of the Writer of The usual suspects (Christopher Mcquaire).

PS: I liked Kante though

I agree. Kaante was definitely one of the better ctrl-C ctrl-V jobs in Bollywood. Mystic River is on the to watch list now. Any reviews ?

Eddy, Mystic River - I would say its an okay movie with good actors of course but somehow did not appeal that much overall.

Saw 'The Saint' the other day in HBO after my cousin kept saying the movie was great. Disappointed. Just a time pass movie. Can see it for Shue

Secretary (2002)

This is an Adult movie. Not so much for exposure but rather the subject. I caught it on TV and it was the edited version anyways.

The movie revolves around a young girl who is just released from a mental asylum. He father is an alcoholic and she likes to cut and poke herself.
She decides to get a job as a secretary.
Then starts a life of rough love.
Maggie Gyllenhal plays her role really well. The other actors pale in comparison. The boss who likes to control every aspect of her life decides enough. But she is not willing to let go. Who she gets him back is the climax of the movie.

I kind of liked the movie. Its a different perspective on love.
The following quote from the movie sums it up nicely, "Who's to say that love needs to be soft and gentle?".

Watched a couple of movies :-

The People Vs. Larry Flynt Starring Woody Harrelson and Courtney Love

This is a true story about Larry Flynt ( Woody) who starts the infamous porn magazine 'Hustler' and his crazy strategies in the crazier world of porn makes him stand out in that world.

He gets continously arrested for his strong anti-society ideas/actions and his court room antics are out of this world and probably the most hilarious that i have seen after " My Cousin Vinny"

Fantastic acting my Woody, great screenplay and the fact that its a true story makes this movie stand out. I would recommend this for sure.

4/5

Kiss the Girls Starring Morgan Freeman and Ashley Judd

This movie is based on a novel by one of my favorite authors " James Patterson".

Morgan is trying to track down a serial killer who has kidnapped his niece and uncannily seems to be in two different places at the same time.

Ashley Judd is one of the victims who escaped and helps him out

Great acting, taut screenplay and eerie surroundings make this a fantastic movie. MUST WATCH

4/5

Saw "My Sister's Keeper" on a flight back home.
The story line is about a 11 yr old girl Anna who is suing her parents since they have been using has as an organ transplant for her 14 yr old sister Kate who is suffering from lukemia.

Some good twists make the movie gripping and powerful acting by the girls Kate and Anna makes the movie a must watch.

Cameron Diaz proves that she is more than an Angel. Sofia Vassilieva is sure to be nominated for a few awards for her role as Kate.

My Rating 4/5

Recently chose a couple of movies based just on the cast, without even looking at the storyline on the disc cover and without having heard of the movie.

They turned out good choices, for me at least. One was The Emperor's Club, starring Kevin Kline. 3.5/5. Had heard of him but had never seen a film of his before.

The other which I liked better was Changing Lanes (Ben Affleck and Samuel Jackson). A drama on one day in the lives of two men who meet after their cars collide with each other. Jackson fans will like it. 4/5.

Is it just me or does Samuel Jackson remind anyone else of Nana Patekar (or vice versa)? Both in looks and manner.

Taxi 9211 was copied from Changing Lanes. Nana played Jackson's role & John Abraham plays Affleck's role. I found Changing Lanes much better than the copy.

However, in general Samuel Jackson doesn't remind me on Nana.
