You've got Mail

Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks in this romantic movie about a couple who know each other only through email. Their only form of contact is via mail, and non personal in nature. It turns out that one among them is the owner of a large retail chain of a bookstore which in the process of growth seeks to eliminate other small fishes in the same space, which incidentally belongs to the other.

Rather predicatable but cuddle up and the movie is certainly worth watching.

Thank you for Smoking.

How does it feel to be the most despised person in the room?
This movie takes a funny and different view on the life of a lobbyist.
Slightly drags in the middle but overall a very good movie.
Enjoyed it.

Caught these on TV.

Sicko (2007)
Another excellent documentary by Michael Moore.
Its about the health care system in the US.
How insurance companies operate and why the healthcare in the US is a mess.
The best part is when he takes 9/11 volunteers to Guantanamo as the prisoners there get free state of the art medical care.
Since they cannot enter they go to Cuba.
A nasal spray that costs 120$ in the US, costs about 5cents here.
The lady breaks down. Was a very touching scene.

The following quotes was so true in the contect of India as well.
Tony Benn: Keeping people hopeless and pessimistic - see I think there are two ways in which people are controlled - first of all frighten people and secondly demoralize them.
An educated, healthy and confident nation is harder to govern.

Mother (1996/II)
A warm story about a 40 year old man who decides to come and stay with his mother so that he can understand his life better.
Its a very nice movie of discovering relationships.
Nice.

Saw this documentory as well, was very insightful and well made, really shows the U.S health system being in shambbles. U.K and Canada is soo advanced in their health system. I see a lot of similarities between India and U.S, in all walks of life after watching this documentory.

I think I was the only person on this planet who had not seen Sixth Sense, so saw it on the weekend and loved the movie. Wonderful concept and a brilliant climax.

Its the Phonebooth's turn tonight

Harold & Kumar : Escape from Guatanamo Bay

This is the first time i am seeing them, and was wondering are there more to the series of Harold & Kumar ?

The main characters in the movie are Harold and Kumar, American citizens of Korean and Indian origin respectively and their antics and escapades. Loosely similar to movies such as Road Trip and Euro Trip, this one has its fair share of laughs.

H&K are off on a trip to Amsterdam when they are arrested on the suspicion of being terrorists, and sentenced to Guatanamo Bay. They escape from here, and then have to get to Texas where their friend who can save them is getting married to Kumar's ex-girlfriend.

There is also a dig taken at Bush who is shwon smoking weed with the duo.

Not intended for family viewing, though.

^^ part of the series. The first movie was Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle (2004)

Love that movie. I watched the Hindi dubbing as well. It was funnier.

Happened to see this movie on Saturday. Slow & emotional but I liked it.

Madagascar 2: Escape to Africa:

Except for the penguins, this was a poor effort, specially considering the high standards which Madagascar had set for the sequel.

Just finished Phonebooth.

What a disappointment !!! An average movie with a stupid climax. But perhaps I was expecting too much.

1.5 stars only !!

Watched Righteous Kill, over the weekend. Al Pacino & Robert De Niro. Two classy actors, and an interesting plot. For those who've seen it,I hope most of you agreed with the way Pacino did his business.

Caught this movie on TV.

My Baby's Daddy (2004)

Its about a bunch of guys who suddenly find that girlfriends are pregnant.
Movie was actually sweet and nice.
Time pass movie. You will not get bored and although this genre is usually a little offensive, this movie is clean. Atleast on TV there were no nasty (and sometimes not so nasty ) surprises.
