Turtles can fly

Brutle reality at its best. Its also well clubbed with some wry humour. The state of the Iraqi kurds depicted through the lives of a young refugee camp is unbelievably at its best. The location is in Iraq near the Turkish border and captures the state of the lives of the people just before the US invasion and the fall of Saddam Hussein.

A depressing but a brilliant movie.

The throne of blood

One of the rare films where Kurosawa has taken inspiration from a play - Macbeth. Its a story of a warrior who carves his own path of self-destruction through his evil thoughts, his wife and greed. Kurosawa and Bergman never fall short to amaze me. Like many of Kurosawa's flims this goes into the history books as yet another timeless classic.

Watched 8mm1 and 8mm2 this weekend.
Good timepass, however A content is on high side so advisable not to be seen with family.

I've been watching only masala stuff lately. Over the weekend, i saw Saw, Saw 2, Saw 3 and Saw 4. Predictably, Saw was the best of the lot needless to say. Saw 2 also wasnt bad, but it all went totally downhill after that, with Saw 4 being completely worthless.

Should i go ahead and watch Saw 5? Just to complete the series, or is it really worth a watch?

OMG Amitoj, you took the words right out of my mouth. I saw Saw and just loved it. Wanted to know if the sequels were any better. So, Saw II is good eh ? Is it a continuation of the story or a fresh plot ?

Also saw Burn After Reading. Nothing extraordinary. Pure one time watch. 2.5 stars

I'll say that they are linked to each other. The link between Saw and Saw 2 is the strongest. Remaining sequels were made only to cash in on the success of the first two.

Incidentally, i have only Saw 5 DVD at home and didnt see the previous version. I havent seen because i want to see the first part first. It lies awaiting my cover opening till i get my hands on 1st part

I am new to posting in TBHP, though been a dormant reader since long.

found this thread very interesting, here am, with a movie suggestion.

I saw 'The Shining' recently. its very decent horror movie, Jack Nicholson is good . I love the acting by the kid.

Directed by Stanley Kubrick, so expect a strange ending.

Btw: Which is the best murder mystery you ever saw ? Or a whodunnit ? Looking at movies from that genre. Any suggestions ?

Best murder mystery? Psycho, Rear Window, Dial M for Murder.... and so on. All from Hitchcock. No one does it better than Hitchcock.

C'mon !! Psycho must have been good when it released. I saw it recently and it was so damn predictable... Hated the movie... Looked outdated :(

Dial M for Murder was good (I have actually seen the Hindi copied movie

)... Rear Window is on the to-watch list but I fear it being similar to Psycho.

See thats the thing. Making mystery movies has become tougher over the years

Usual Suspects was a good one. Try Mulholland Drive or Memento. These don't exactly fit the genre of murder mysteries though. But they do have an element of surprise.
