Couple of weeks back watched - 'Revolver'

One of the most exciting thrillers i had seen in recent times. Absolutely worth a watch.
Summary from IMDB -

After seven years in solitary, Jake Green is released from prison. In the next two years, he amasses a lot of money by gambling. He's ready to seek his revenge on Dorothy (Mr. D) Macha, a violence-prone casino owner who sent Jake to prison. He humiliates Macha in front of Macha's lieutenants, leaves, and keels over. Doctors tell him he has a rare disease and will die in three days; Macha also puts a hit out on him. Loan sharks, Zack and Avi, demand Jake's cash and complete fealty in return for protection. Jake complies, and through narration and flashbacks, we watch him through at least three days of schemes, danger, and redemption. Who is his greatest enemy?

I have seen it in a theatre. It's crap and too much graphic stuff, doesn't look real. I just liked the first track accident scene, rest was shite.

P.S: When i play the accident scene from FD2 on my HT, some guests gape at that scene or effects from the HT, not sure which one

Just returned from the show and am full of owe for "The King of Pop". A fantastic depiction of what could have been one of the best shows in the world. One can see the amount of hard work that MJ and his crew had put in.
I did not feel at any point that the movie was trying to coverup the fact that organisers were over-straining him. He is beyond any of those. He was so involved in almost everything for "This is it", right from auditioning and selecting the dancers, co-singers, choreography, music, ligthing, creativity and even direction. The director kept checking with him if he was alright with a particular arrangement and only after he affirms would something proceed.
The documentaty contains full rehearsals of popular numbers like Thriller, Billy Jean, Man in the mirror, Black or White, Earth Song etc. PVR was almost full for this show and everyone present clapped for this "Billy Jean" performance. "This is it", his new song was also played towards the end.
This is a must watch for MJ fans. I will be watching this atleast once more before it goes off-screen in two weeks.

Went for late night show, "The King just conquered", left the cinema hall in silence totally emotional and unable to talk. I saw the human side of the King, his humbleness, his god bless you and love you.

Amazing documentary that shows the perfectionist he is and the knowledge he has in his music and the passion. The perfection was highlighted when he explains the music note that sounded little high (seriously it didnt for me). The music was little fast, the king says "the music should be like moonlight" tears is all I had.

There is a one King and let him rest in peace.
Thanks to the director, he clearly passed the message of "Heal the world". Well done, true to MJ documentary
How I wish he took care of his health!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

p.s: Dont leave the cinema hall when credits start, wait till it ends, you will see few more snippets of the king and his last message and the famous walk logo of his.

I haven't watched Revolver, but have watched "Snatch" & "Lock, Stock & 2 Smoking Barrels" by the same director(Guy Ritchie) & they are superb. And they are supposed to be better than Revolver.
Also watched RockNRolla by Ritchie which is also decent.

This movie is about a 78 year old widower out to fulfill a fantasy of his beloved late wife on her behalf. The movie deftly deals with issues of old-age, urbanization etc. but there are enough thrills for kids too. I would say, after Wall-E this is another animation flick having enough juice to engage grown ups.

About a year back, I borrowed the original Italian Job's DVD from 'the_trooper' and I was shocked.
It was pathetic to say the least. And kept me wondering how Hollywood even thought about a modern remake of such a disaster.
This movie is absolutely overrated.

Now, coming to the modern remake with Mark Wahlberg, Edward Norton, BMW Minis and a good storyline.
I have a copy of this in DVD and never get tired watching it again and again.

PS: I hear they were planning a sequel set in Brazil/ Rio.

The chase sequence of Minis areso delicious and i really like the opening scene of stealing that safe(i guess its been filmed in venice).

i can see 'Italian Job' anytime and rate it higher than the ocean eleven.

@Ruffryder- I was always a big movie buff. Since the day i joined this forum i am quiet active on this thread.

Yes, I meant the latest release. Disappointing that the movie is not good. But no harm in watching it at home

Just watched UP. It was like Wall-E
Kevin, Dog and Russel are too good.
Kevin steals the show. Excellent story, well depicted. Must watch.

Well its a change from what I am used to watching. I simply hate romantic movies.

But its a must watch.

"The Manchurian Candidate" Starring Denzil Washinton, Meryl Streep and Ive Shchreber

It's a story of soldiers who returned from war in Iraq where they were forced to do things without their knowledge via. a tiny implant in their bodies. And, such soldiers are Denzel and Ive ! And, that implant can make you do anything without your knowledge including give you merits that can even make you the vice-president of the country

Trust americans to come up with such a fancy story for a movie which if it happens in reality would be a catastrophe. On second thoughts you never know, america is capable of doing anything sinister so it may have happened too.

Denzil was Ok, i didnt like him so much in this movie. He looks tired and his role is not well etched out

Meryl Streep is outstanding. Her command over dialogue delivery is seen to be beileved. This is what acting is all about

Ive Schrieber was amazing in this role and i feel his role had more meat than Denzil's

Overall, a bit complicated, little slow at times but a satisfying movie depicting the horrible politics american government plays by at large.

I just finished watching it. Frankly, I didn't understand.
