For quite a bit of time, Russel Crowe repeats his character in "A Beautiful Mind", a fantastic movie. But it does not go well with this very thin storyline.

Hangover has all the ingredients to make it hot fav- awesome vegas, great acting, great storyline, super funny characters, cool music, hot babes and generous dose of comedy and suspense thrown it.
Hangover is quite good but I was seriously underwhelmed when i saw this movie, after listening to all the hype. My favourite comedy movie of recent times is "Superbad" which i liked much better than "The Hangover". Also, if you are a Star Wars fan, "Fanboys" was a very good comedy.

+1. Hangover is just about ok. Its not a great comedy per se. Its just very contemprary with glitzy landscape, beautiful people and a little humour thrown in. Would give the same rating myself.

Exactly what I feel. The humour mainly came from the presence of Mike Tyson & also the quirky chinese guy.

LS&2SB is one of my all time favourite movies. I would give it 4.5/5. However, I cannot think of it as a comedy at all.

Though the movie is a crime caper but, it is way way lot humorous than many "so called" comedy movies. Each and every dialogue is a masterpiece with wit dripping out of it.

Great movie. But, I realized there are many movies like this one which you loved as a kid but, now you see it. They dont tickle your bones as much.

Another example is Dumb and Dumber. I loved it when i saw it in a movie theatre when it got released. Recently I saw the same movie on a DVD, it didnt make me laugh half as much.

Thanks, have watched some of them listed in bold. Will catch up some more.

While i like the movies you have listed, there are some more which have tickled my funny bones. But then we may have different choices of comedies too.

Some comedy movies that comes to top of my mind are

Blue Streak
Home Alone series
Baby's day out
3 men and a baby
the pacifier
american pie series in some parts.
date night
due date
what happens in vegas
scary movie
road trip
and then some more. plenty of animated movies which would be part of comedies but would leave them out else list will be quite long.

I would like to point out a couple of scenes but I would get infraction for the same. But the one on the pool side with baby(if you know what i mean) was freaking hilarious. Then, making the baby wear sunglasses takes the cake too. The quirky chinese guy's one dialog was awesome in desert, again its a bit censored so won't write here. There are many more such scenarios in the movies which you can't avoid but laugh at the situation. i would say the movie has more situational comedy and that what makes it watchable.

I am in no way endorsing the movie as if i have directed it, but just sharing my thoughts. Obviously we will have difference of opinion, but then everybody has one.

Well one question I had about Hangover which they didn't answer was, how did a hen came inside their room? If you know do let me know.

Anyways, i enjoyed the movie and most of the times we friends watch it so that we can start commenting on the movie and have a great time laughing our heads off.

re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

Watched " Four Brothers" starring Mark Wahlberg and Tyrese Gibson.

Story of 4 brothers uniting to take revenge of their foster mother who is killed in a shoot-out in Detroit. Supposed to be an action movie which you will find plenty at the end but, it was not as exciting as the storyline promised.

Detroit looked good in winter. That was the best part.

MW wasted in this movie.

Stricly average

2/5

Note: Bigflix changed their pick-up request time from midnight to 5:30pm if you want the DVD to be delivered the very next day. No notice but, instantly implemented. This is a major let-down.

I feel their subscribers are increasing by hordes and unable to manage the logistics. But, damn that's not the reason to make the service inconvenient.

Will explore 70mm when time for renewal comes. Is it better than Bigflix? Thoughts please.

I have seen all of the movies on this list (except due date) and have loved each one of them.

A few more favourites of mine

Death at a funeral
Happy Gilmore
You don't mess with the Zohan
Anger Management (yeah, I'm an Adam Sandler fan)
Zombieland (if that can be called a comedy)
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
The Naked Gun Series

There are still a few which I can't remember now. And yes, I loved 'The Hangover' too.
