Well A movie with so many superheros is expected to be swashbuckling, n Boy it is !!!!
For me Robert Downey Jr. as the amazing iron man/ cassanova millionaire Tony stark is the show stopper, the scene stealer. Wether it is the badass attitude that we are so used to seeing from Tony or the self sacrificing super hero towards the end, he does nt cease to amaze.
These exactly my views also on the movie.

To add to it, I loved the scene in which Hulk saves Thor, and finally lands him a punch with a wicked smile !

The movie is a blast and the maximum points go to Iron Man & Hulk for pulling it off

And yes, I am also waiting for the sequel already

Watch it in 3D guys, its a lot more fun

Just cant wait for the sequel. Come on Marvel Dont make us wait too long.
This one scene made me laugh my guts out!!!. Really, I would go back to watch this movie again for this one scene. I really wished that they gave ScarJo some more screen time though.

5/5 for this movie. Great going Avengers!!

There is a sequel also?? Nice!!!

^^The end of the movie (after the credits) shows the possibility of a sequel.
That one scene and the part where the Hulk just side sweeps Thor after saving him had the audience in splits.

Who else felt that watching this in 3d was a waste. I dont know why such movies are even made in 3d?

The movie was actually converted to 3D during post production. IMHO totally unnecessary. But I would definitely like to watch it in IMAX though.

The best scene has got to be the Hulk beating the crap out of Loki

The baddie at the end of the credits is Thanos, he's a relatively new supervillain in the comic-verse.

There is no doubt about a sequel, expect more heroes from marvel like spiderman, wolverine, and fantastic 4.

re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

Saw avengers twice. Once at PVR with Passive 3D which was no fun at all and gave me headache. Before that in DT cinemas with Active 3D, no headache plus awesome.

I thought the headaches were supposed to come in reverse situations...

Anyways 5/5 for Avengers.

Hulk was the best, closely followed by Iron Man.

Like akshayasok said, the hulk and loki scene was beyond awesome

What?
No, he's been here for quite a bit now.
And, he was there in the end?
Damn,I walked out early!

If he is the baddie in the next one, expect one of the good guys to be killed off.

Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows. Superb action movie with funny bits. Sure the intricacies of Holmes' abilities seem boggling to the point of 'oh just stop it'. Its better than the first movie. The action bits have been done very well. RDJr is terrific so is Jude Law.

4.5/5

re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

The great summer movie line-up has started with Avengers. What a movie. Loved it to core. Can't wait for its blu-ray. 5/5 for this one without a doubt.
Black Widow, Iron Man, Hulk steals the show IMHO. SJ was very graceful in her act and that's why i loved her. She looks fantastic too. Iron Man and Hulk shows great attitude and clash of ego with Thor is fantastic.

NSX Roadster had very less screen time (<30seconds) but was worth it. Looked great. It is based of 1991 NSX and not driven more than 30mph. Can't wait for the new NSX to come in couple of years.

Seeing the trailers shown before the movie begins, its gonna be one hell of a summer with upcoming blockbusters like amazing spiderman, dark knight rises, GI-Joe 2, Expendables 2, Prometheus and then some more.

P.S: Regular is better than 3D and wait till end of credits.

The Whistleblower

A grim tale of human trafficking post the civil war in Bosnia, A UN official when unearths the sinister scheme of things, gets threatened/pushed down at every step. Even with all odds against her, she doesn't give up and manages to uncover the truth, eventually bringing it to the notice of the international community.

Good performance by the lead.

Watched The Avengers today. Its an Awesome movie. Its worth every second of your precious time spent watching the movie. Hulk and Ironman steal the show. And watch out for three scenes in the movie:
-Hulk beating the crap out of Loki(looked like dhobi at work).
-Hulk punching Thor and giving a wicked satisfied smile.
-Hulk waking up Ironman who lies unconcious at the end of the movie.
I was laughing my guts out in all the 3 scenes.

re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

Even I watched the Avengers this weekend and it was very good. I was not very positive about this movie watching the previews; but they indeed lived up to each every superhero. I had fun watching the Hulk on screen.

A sincere request for people who have already seen this movie( I appreciate the fact that you loved the movie and enjoyed its experience But why to spoil it for others ?).Please do not reveal the key scenes of the movie which actually make the movie worth a watch. I was browsing the thread before I went for the movie and soon as I read something which revealed something about the movie, I closed down the page.

Sorry for the rants above. One recommendation watch Thor before you see Avengers, a few people of our group did not know who loki was, and hence could not get a few of the jokes in the movie.
