Of the ones in the last month that i saw, here are some that i liked:

- The Marshland (2014; Spain; The movie is set in 1980 where two police detectives investigate...really liked this one)
- Cop Car (2015; is an Indie movie. If you liked "Mud" you would like this too)
- Run All Night (thriller; i was surprised how i liked a Liam Neeson action movie. but this one is a decent one time watch)
- Foul Play (1978; is a comedy thriller. has a damn reptile that appears 3-4 times in the movie, quite unecessary if you, like me have a phobia of these things)
- Blow Out (1980; thriller)
- Friends of Eddie Coyle (1973; crime)
- Clue (1985; comedy/mystery)
- Airplane (1980; satire/comedy/spoof)

Avoid: 10 cent pistol, Slow West.

had planned to watch Everest and Black Mass but from the views they havent turned out to be as good as expected.

i think Pawn Sacrifice, Trumbo, Spotlight and Sicario would be really good ones.

Saw Southpaw.

Astounded and pleasantly surprised by this movie. Marvellous acting by the lead cast. The storyline might appear stale to some, but it's engrossing. Some of the songs in the OST are briliant.
Forest Whittaker also doesn't disappoint in his covert, quiet and crucial role.

Must watch.

Amidst the VW saga, if you are in the mood of a court movie against a car manufacturer, do watch Gene Hachman's 1991 movie "Class Action". I do not think it's available on netflix so you will have to be resourceful to find this movie.

Watched Martian in 3D yesterday. Amazing movie with Ridley Scott and Matt Damon at their very best!
I'd definitely give it a 8/10.

PS: Somehow or other seemed to recollect Tom Hank's Cast Away and the fact that Hollywood has progressed from a "deserted island" to "Mars" in last 1.5 decades.

Mad Max: Fury Road - 8/10

Damn that was one insane, fast paced movie! 2 hours went by just like that and the next thing I knew, the credits sequence was rolling. Loved it; not a moment of boredom. Stunt choreography was amazing!

Post apocalyptic world + mentally modified vehicles = WIN!

PS: I think I saw a modified RE Bullet in the movie.

Sicario: This movie was one i wanted to watch as i was interested in the affects of the drug trade on locals in mexico. This movie is outright scary, violent and bloody.

Its about a honest fbi officer who is dragged into outright dangerous territory in tracking a mob boss. These guys are not known to be cool and will kill their family for cash.

Do watch it if you like films on narcos.

Please do watch Gran Torino, if you are okay with a slow moving screenplay. Loved couple of scenes involving the car (there are only a couple though ). A different one from the lot of Clint Eastwood.

Probably one of his earlier movies about World War 2.

You missed out some great Spegetti Western classics like "A Fistful of Dollars" and "For a few Dollars More" starring Clint Eastwood. These movies were directed by Sergio Leone and the background score was by Ennio Morricone whose classical score was copied by almost all Indian movies when they want to show a 'western' scene.

I was about to mention Fistful of Dollar [FFD] and For a Few Dollars More [FFDM], but you beat me to it. All three are true gems to last forever, literally immortalizing "the man with no name". Recurring aspects in all three:

1. Excellent background score, with eerie music during a death scene. (Specially the watch chimes in FFDM]
2. Close ups of actors faces.
3. No dialogues probably for the first 10-15 minutes of the movie. The actions speak much more. Good, Bad, Ugly hardly has dialogues in the beginning.
4. Great focus on guns during draws, and literally show casing reloads and cartridge ejects. Also showing cylinder spins, and over-under rifle action.
5. Clint's cape.
6. Highlight on waist belts, gun belts, spurs --- spinning.
7. Panoramic locations made to look like America, shot in Italy.
8. All opening credits splattered with blood red colors and pseudo-characters.
9. An over-aching likeness for the villain is shown.
10. Pure machismo. Hardly any female actresses.

Though: Once Upon a Time in the West is good too. With Charles Bronson, Claudia Cardinale, and Henry Fonda. Again the opening cast sequence is awesome, and the "harmonica" is eerie..!

Yes, I totally love Once Upon a Time in the West! And harmonica is amazing - the character. Played by this amazing actor called Charles Bronson - I first watched him in Breakheart Pass.
