That was for Mayankk because this is what he said earlier

You should watch Predestination, if you haven't already.
I was trying to explain it to my wife yesterday, and accidentally pulled my brains out of my armpit!

The likes of Time Crimes and Memento can take a back seat. THE most confusing movie on time travel is Primer.

I had a difficult time following it even after reading the wiki page, you've GOT to give it a try.

Big fan of Meryl Streep . Loved her in The Iron Lady, and equally in The Devil Wears Prada (saw it over the weekend). Would rate it a 5 / 5. Enjoyable, funny, stylish, chic. The book (on which the movie is based) was written by an ex-assistant of the editor of Vogue magazine. Apparently, it's a true story.

Damn, the way she's dressed here. So classy!

Re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

Watched Inferno this weekend. The movie was okay to a certain extent but not like the first two parts. The story is lame and solving puzzles are quite less than what we saw in the first two parts.

My take if you have seen the first two then you may go ahead but new person may find it boring.

2.5/5 stars

I'd recommend Bridges of Madison County if you haven't seen already. Have Sophie's Choice and Deer Hunter forever in the queue. Got to see them sometime.

Re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

A lazy day last week made worth while by watching 'The Longest Yard'.

Adam Sandler has given an excellent performance.

So many movies based on 'jail' themes, and this one is worth watching.

Anyone watched 'Never Go Back' trailer? Another Tom Cruise (as Jack Reacher) movie, coming next week... The title is same as the novel. The first one was actually 'One Shot'

There is a world of difference between the character built by Lee Child and the way Tom Cruise fits in the role (look at it like this - Tom Hanks vs. Robert Langdon)

BTW, an older Tom Cruise seems to be more appealing - Edge of Tomorrow and Rogue Nation has me hooked, every time it comes on TV.....

Inferno - He has done justice to the book and is true to it. I think fans and people who have read the book will connect to it well. I believe the book being based on real locales made things really easy for the movie.

Watched Delhi Safari. I didn't knew Indians can also make good animation films. A good story and message too depicted through it.

Saw the movie "Hunt for the Wilderpeople"

Relaxed and quite funny.
It's about a rebellious kid and his could-be adoptive father while on foster care.
out in the wild NZ outback.

Barring a few swear words even kids can watch it.
I would give it a 4/5 .

Re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

Just saw the trailer for Logan and it looks very interesting. Very different from previous X-Men movies. I have always liked Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, although i didn't like all the X-men movies. From this trailer, it looks like the movie will be very gritty and emotional. And this might be the last time Hugh Jackman plays Wolverine.

Re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

Mulholland Drive: This has been on my radar for quite a while, Just unable to procure a copy from somewhere:

Ex-Machina
: If you are fond of Android-Human interaction/I-robot/ A.I then this movie is for you. As a science fan, absolutely loved this movie.

Story revolves between three main characters, where in he is brought in to perform a Turing test on Ava- the android. I didn't knew what a Turing test is..so here it goes via google.

"a test for intelligence in a computer, requiring that a human being should be unable to distinguish the machine from another human being by using the replies to questions put to both."

This test is the whole premise of the movie. CGI, is top notch. I think it received an Oscar for special effects.

Rating 5/5
