Luck by Chance

The first thing that strikes you once you watch this movie is whether the director had to run catch a train?! The sequence of events leading to the ending is so abrupt it just stares at you in the face.

That apart, another good performance by Farhan who seems to be quite at ease with his acting. However, having watched 'Rock On' and then following it up with LBC, it seems he's into similar kind of roles already.

The movie is slow-paced, and draws commendable performances from the cast including Rishi Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia and Konkona Sen. Watch out for guest appearances from the film fraternity.

I would suggest watch it when you're too lazy to do anything else. The movie wont bore you, but neither will it keep you at the edge of your seats.

Bennyboy Rating : **

Watched Gulaal today with about a total of 20 people in hall including 8 of us!

Very nice movie & very nicely done with excellent performances from KK & the actor playing his elder senile brother. Infact, I loved the brother's role both the way it was portrayed and also for the dialogues he said at the opportune moments and great songs too!

But it is a very, very serious movie & can get a bit slow especially since at nearly 3 hours it's quite long. DO NOT watch the movie if you're looking for entertainment, this is a much more deep, dark and thought provoking movie.

P.S. Rating 2.5/5 because it's a bit too serious IMO.

Just caught the late night show of 13B yesterday night.

Verdict - 4/5. I liked it a lot - quite different from the different horror / supernatural movies we are used too.

The build up in the 1st half is superb - people have found it slow - I loved the 1st half - the 2nd half could have easily trimmed of 10-15 minutes but nothing that major.

Super movie. Go watch it.

@bblost Thank you for smoking is great. Great attitude by the actor and his son too. Nice insight over a lobby.

Gulaal:
@irraghava: I do agree with you. I was in a hall with 45 people. The hype by dev d didnt help anurag and i guess if this movie has to run he has to promote it more.

In case your looking for an entertainer than keep away from this movie. If you like politics and have a thing to watch how people are made use of and dont mind watching the reality of things then you must watch this movie.
About college elections and how big fish are involved in it. Also gives an insight over the rajputs of rajasthan and frankly i was shocked.
Reference to ragging is there and the old reference to raja's being betrayed by the state is also give. Lots of pride is shown on the face in this movie.

Frankly I liked this movie. I like politics so can somehow bear all this. My friends who were with me didnt like it and one of them who loves typical bolly romance movies hated it.

Watch it for performance by the heros roomie and also by KK.
Brilliant.
Rating-3/5 only because of performance.

Little Zizou has not been released on Big Cinemas chain - PVR is your best bet if you want to catch this one.

13B-
Well i went for this only cos so many people praised it here. I was disappointed. You call this spooky- no way. And that end joke of ghosts coming in mobiles now was like the director was so bored with his already boring story he created that joke to amuse himself a bit.
Special mention for Madhavan as his acting was quiet good. Rest all were passe.
Rating - 2/5

The Illusionist -
Caught this on Tv this weekend. Awesome movie. The way its been screenplayed is brilliant. I dont rem the actors name but he did a great job. Watch for its climax which is quiet a twist! Highly recommended.

Rating - 5/5.

Next target is Gulaal so lesse how it is.

Great - next up is The Stoneman Murders.

Anyone watched movies on Bindass channel ? The hindi dubbing on Hollywood movies is simply hilarious !

The brother's part is played by Piyush Mishra, who is also the composer and lyricist for the movie. I watched it yesterday and was amazed at the variety of Anurag Kashyap's movies.
