Apparently the hit Dabang song, Munni badnam huyi is a copy of a Pakistan song

'Munni Badnaam' lifted from Pak film - The Times of India

Never go by TOI ratings, they are totally rubbish. They give unnecessary extra stars for movies from big productions houses or movies with big stars.

Rediff reviews are more reliable than TOI. I especially like the ratings given by Raja Sen, he is always spot on.

Song starts from 1.53 minutes onwards.

I would call it inspired rather than copied.

Watched " Dabangg" last evening. I know i am ages behind.

As all said before its purely for masses. I was expecting a lot from the movie but, i was not too happy as in between found the movie slightly dragging, boring and a bit loud

However, nice acting by all and some slow motion physics defying action and coupled with emotions and family fued makes this movie one which has wrapped everything into a nice package.

Couple of songs are really good especially - tere mast mast do nain.

Btw, i didnt like Munni Badnam Hui. Too vampish for my taste and i hate MA, she looks what she is--Gold Digger.

Sonakshi Sinha was a revelation and kept me mesmersized wherever she appeared. Didnt know someone fat can be transformed so dramatically. I would rate her face as the most fresh and best in industry currently.

Sonu Sood was excellent in his role and i like his deep throated voice and if given opportunity he can do a good job of any role ( see how he is becoming so popular down south).

Arbaaz Khan cannot act to save his life.

Vinod Khanna and Dimple were just about adequate

All said and done, Sallu bhai is the tadka in this masaledar kichdi. Without him this movie would have folded over many times. Superb acting with some new and unique comic histronics. A well deserved success to him.

3.5/5

P.S: Btw, the scenes shot in that open land were in Panchagni's table land. I was there for a short vacation in April'10 and locals were saying Salman was in town for shooting

Dabang: My friend who is from Andhra said "Salman has done what Mahesh babu and Balaya have been doing for years...he needs to take lessons to get there"

Why the buck stops at MB and Balakrishna? Even Jr.NTR, Pawan Kalyan, Ravi Teja and all other tollywood heroes do the same. Romance skimpily clad heroines and fight baddies in slow motion physics defying sequences.

Telugu film industry thrives on such depiction.

O.T: One thing i hate about telugu film actors is thick mush and scraggly beards. God, do they think they look macho in that? If yes, they got another think coming.

Also, in their movies they show so much violence ( people running behind each other with sickles, dagger. Blood spurting out etc) it is unbeilevable that censor board is turning a blind eye to it.

Anyways, when masses like it. Who are we to complain?

Do Dooni Chaar is a delightful watch. Simple story, nice acting and just the right amount of humor. Complete family movie, gets 4 stars from me.

Those who liked Wagle ki duniya (TV series) will love this one

Aisha

I watched Aisha just now on DVD and its a nice one time watch. Certain sequences are too corny but over all its ok.

Nice sound track and Lisa Haydon as Aarti Menon is simply drool maal.

Overall 3/5

P.S:
As per wifey, movie is a loose adaptation of Emma by Jane Austen unlike 27 dresses as mentioned by someone else in this thread earlier.

Mobike: You should watch kannada movies! The posters itself will have the hero with blood on his face and a huge sword! Been ages since i watched a nice movie. No wonder bhojpuri movies are more profitable

Do Dooni Chaar
A wonderfully refreshing movie, a good change from the over glossified circus bollywood has become.
Many of us can actually relate to the movie!

+1. i was just about to write this. You beat me to it.

Only thing good about the movie are two songs - Mere bina and Kya. Everything else is trash worthy.

Can't believe Mahesh bhatt came up with this. And what was Mohit Suri thinking? He has made some good movies in past. I guess he was sleeping while directing.
