Looking forward to this movie. Having been in a being there done that situation (the drug/tourist/corruption in Goa). I want to see how close or far from the truth the movie actually gets to.

Oh yeah there is an RD in the movie.

Re: The Hindi Movies Thread

Watched "Thank You" starring Askhay, Bobby, Irfann and Suneil Shetty

Premise is heavily inspired by No Entry but, the laughs dont work even half of how each scene worked in NE.

Nevertheless, it's quite a decent movie with Askhay doing a fabulous job ably supported by Irfann. Both these guys got some really funny lines and it tickled my ribs a bit. Irfann simply rocked in this movie

Sonam Kapoor with her weak voice is a disaster in acting department. But,she is good looking for sure.

Bobby and Rimi were totally wasted. Otherwise Rimi's facial expressions are quite good and it's her forte.

Suneil hasnt much to do and was almost downgraded to a B-Star grade. Sad for him.

I cannot get this penchat for shooting abroad ( this one is in toronto) as it absolutely dint gell with script. Why cant they shoot in Indian locations. Bollywood learn from Hollywood where majority of their pics are shot in US and maybe half of it in california and NY.

Overall, a decent timepass flick

3/5

Govinda and Kader Khan at their best. Ably supported by Johnny Lever.

Total paisa vasool kind of movie. No vulgarity. Lots of slapstick but humour that is allowed to develop and make you laugh. Since I had already watched this movie so many times. The scene would start and I was already laughing.
This one's an absolute laugh riot. Excellent chemistry between Govinda, Kader Khan and Johnny Lever. Never mind the slapstick portions...they succeed in making you laugh.

One of my favourite movies. A must watch. Highly recommended. Escapist entertainment at it's best!!!!!!!

Dum Maaro Dum - This is the first movie I really liked in 2011. It's crisp, there isn't the unwanted masala and the actors do justice to their characters. Would rate it 3.5/5.

It's good.
If you can ignore the songs popping up at very inooportune times, the narrative is very strong and overall makes for a, well, very "different" experience from the usual offerings(all in a good sense)

DMD:
First half is really gripping and fast paced, 2nd half is rather slow and has some unwanted songs.

Bipasha is looking 5 years younger.

Its a nice movie overall.

Few highlights:

Abhishek Bachchan is excellent in the movie. So are Rana and Pratiek. Bipasha definitely looking lot younger and nicer

Brings back lot of fond memories from Goa. Movie fast paced for almost the 75% of the time.

Ending the movie could have been slightly better.

I will stop here to avoid Spoilers.

Definitely a worthy watch! Would Rate it 4/5.

Re: The Hindi Movies Thread

I would give Dum Maro Dum - 2.5/5. Its nicely shot, infact beautifully shot. I feel Pratiek's performance was the best - Rana needs a bit more confidence, AB has done this oh so cool cop thingy a few times now , Bips is ok.

The Dum Maro Dum song actually looks better on screen than on TV

Pratiek Babbar is a promising new star. I loved his work in Dhobhi Ghat as well.

But, he needs to work on his voice.

Exactly my thoughts but with this character his whining voice worked perfect.
